The new Elantra TCR for GT7 has been announced as coming in the next update.

So, when do we think? January?

The prize cars from the Fukuoka GTWS Finals viewers' campaign are also supposed to arrive with the 'next update' too.

Would they make us wait until Feb or later?

I'm hoping for the new BMW M4 GT3

An unpopular opinion, probably, but I also want the datamine '07 R35 GTR in the hope it's RHD (the '17 is LHD and it feels odd to me driving a Japanese car that's not RHD, especially in Tokyo...) I know the Nismo '17 is RHD, but its stock pp is way too high for my fave race, the Tokyo 12-lapper, and I just don't like nerfing roadcars.

Let's go with January.

  • Elantra TCR
  • BMW 2002 tii
  • Buick GNX
  • GR GT3

Pretty sure it will be a January update too. I personally don’t think it will be a more than 3 car update since we just got a 8 car update. I also feel like if (more like when) we get the GR GT3 we will also get the GR GT. I feel like we might get them more like mid year or something like that.

Stupid theory: there will be a "Chinese New Year" update with the U9 and SU7.
I don’t think it that stupid of theory. It would be a way to reach the Chinese players base…

Not a horrible theory, although with the current dumb nonsense going on between Japan and China they might not want to draw attention to the collaboration.

I'm just hoping for Sophy to be added to more tracks in the custom races, and for some of the past update cars to get support. I'm still waiting for Suzuki Carry races. 😒

I absolutely agree; I sometimes do not understand the logic PD uses when it comes to which market the car they're scanning comes from. Probably out of convenience, if I had to guess. The Z and Peugeot CUV (USDM model & UK model) are the same way, as examples.

Anyways, I will predict the Elantra TCR plus the two GT3s that PD is showing off but not giving us (M4 GT3 & 992 GT3) for all of 2026 :sly: I hope they all come in one update for the lols

Isn't it kind of odd that Sophy can race some tracks in the PP that it is not enabled for otherwise...?

Different Sophy, and tailored cars. The normal one has to be able to deal with everything you can throw at it.

I disagree. It's an intentional omission to give the PP value. I posted a work around for the Power Pack cars and Sophy in the custom race thread which shows that there are many more cars that support Sophy than what PD officially allows. I am certain the same holds true for tracks.

I also don't understand how Sophy 2.0 can drive heavily modified cars out of our garage out of the box for custom races, but always reverts to RH or the default stock tyres as if it couldn't drive on anything else. (I actually think this is more like a bug)

Not a bug. Just the intention. It's easier to test for the test department. It doesn't have to make a whole bunch of sense. Don't assume it's a feature limitation within Sophy. Like many things, it's likely something imposed upon it.

I just posted in the custom race thread on how to use the Power Pack cars and 1.65 update cars with Sophy, even though they are not officially supported. They work fine.
