Japanese games on US PS3?

Sorry for the noob question, but I can' really find a 100% answer to my question;

Just bought my PS3 last night, and am looking into buying the Japanese Initial D game for it. Will this game work on my US spec PS3?

Just want to verify, because I had trouble with asian games on my PS1 and PS2 before :nervous:

PS3s are multi-region for PS3 games. However DLC is region-locked - you'll need to create an account based in the region of the game for which you're trying to add DLC. This isn't difficult - I have Japanese, American and European accounts on my PS3.

PS3s are not multi-region for PS1 and, where they'll play them, PS2 games. You still need the right region console for that.
