Jaques Villeneuve wants to return to F1...

I hate that you all hate Villeneuve because he sucked on th track. Who knows, maybe he got better, or maybe someone might make a big mistake.

Yes, he was good in his day. But he stood still. The cars got quicker, the drivers got younger, the gap between first and second got closer. And in the middle of it all, JV did nothing. He took the opportunity to lead BAR and made nothing of it. Yes, he had his moments and he was hampered by a car that was anything but what it could have been, but in the end, his career was in freefall. That's how he found himself driving a Sauber in 2005 and ultimately replaced by Robert Kubica. I don't think we've seen a bigger fall from grace in the sport short of Damon Hill making the blindingly stupid decision to join Arrows in 1997.

We haven't seen him in an F1 car in years so how will we know.

Because he hasn't been in an F1 car in years.

I'd love to see Villeneuve back, I was a big fan back then when he was one of the few challengers of M. Schumacher... but then you guys probably right, he seen his best days. :/

Umm, that just shows my lack of knowledge about stuff like wiki, but I couldn't figure out anything other than Villeneuve making only 3 points 2008...
Any hints what I should look after ?

Anyway, Damon Hill was the new Nigel Mansell.

Damon was a lot better than people gave him credit for. 1994 would have been in the bag but for the "incident", and he could even have won the championship in his first full year in 1993 if you take into account the number of times his car expired or he was given team orders to move over whilst in the lead (two retirements while leading and twice having to move over for Prost, if I remember correctly). Would people think differently of Damon if he had three world titles?

And let's not forget he almost won in the Arrows in 1997, after having passed Michael on the track.

Regarding Villeneuve, he's a waste of space. If he'd had the humility to not think he was still the dog's danglies even when he was being absolutely shockingly useless, then he might get a bit more respect. But 1997 aside he proved himself absolutely incapable of putting in anything other than a distinctly average performance.

Not to mention Hill almost become one of the few people to achieve the first win for two different teams within a year too, which Vettel did recently.

However, even I will admit Damon will only ever be 2nd-tier material, he was never the best of the best, but he was very good. He lost his head a little too much for that (1995, 1999) and made too many silly little mistakes. But, he is still one of my all time favourite drivers ever, and Hungary 1997 is an emotional race for me to watch to this day.....soooooo close
