Depends on mileage or condition. I'd also love to get one of these:

2002-2004 Ford F150 Harley Davidson 340bhp 425tq (supercharged 5.4L V8):

Yes the Lightning has more power (380bhp 450tq [2001-2004]) but the Harley is no slouch. And I like the paint scheme.

Heh. I'd forgotten about the H-D version. Though I did always assume it put out identical figures to the Lightning, though thinking about it now it makes sense that they keep the Lightning as the top dog.

The H-D cost a fair bit new, didn't it - getting it second hand you're profiting from the wonders of depreciation.

Mine's a 5-speed semi-auto which rates at 5.8 stock (6spd is 5.7) in 0-60.
As far as I've read, a 6spd Charger is 5.7 as well.

C'mon mate, the Charger is a 340Bhp, RWD, V8 car. I'd expect those kind of figures to beat a 286Bhp (250whp), FWD, V6 in 0-60, not equal it. But, it's heavy and that's where it really starts to go bad til' you look inside. Worse yet, the Charger only seems to make torque in 1 situation; 0 to whatever.

Like I said, you've got much better choices to look at first.

I do have better choices, but, if these aren't unreliable and I cannot find a good specimen of my other choices I wouldn't feel bad getting one. Plus if people deem it "slow" that's nothing a supercharger won't fix. :D

I love depreciation as a pre-owned car buyer. If I had a slightly better position at my company and $2.00 or more per hour wage I could get my German fantasy. :D

Question...

Saab convertible
Volvo S80 T6
Audi A4 cabriolet
Mustang GT convertible

Which of the three in that price bracket would be a better all'rounder? And by that I mean, fun to drive (quickly) along with comfort and whatnot. :D Do I go for luxury motoring or musclecar motoring? As you can see I want a convertible--too bad the Volvo vert's are expensive.

I can't see the Saab, Volvo or A4 being particularly "fun" in the traditional sense of the word, so by default I'd choose the Mustang.

Marauder, all the way. I breakneck every (infrequent) time I see one cruising around. I figure that's enough merit to get one right there.

Used G8 GT, maybe?

I know the interiors are bad, but V8 and RWD solves my hatred of the interior. I need some data in regards to what to watch out for and what is a common occurrence.

Joey might know. He pays attention to these things more than I do.

Eh, the Charger R/T's are cool enough but they aren't rated all that high in reliability. Although they haven't been around long enough to really get an accurate picture of their long term reliability.

Pretty much anything I've seen about this suggests the electrical systems are awful. Being a Chrysler product though I can't really see why that wouldn't be true. Even at that though the internet isn't awash with people complaining all that much about it. My guess is they have small annoying problems.

When I worked at the city most of the cars had the 3.5L which was an awful engine but a couple had the 5.7L. They weren't that reliable either but then again the life of a cop car isn't exactly easy and they are pushed much harder then a normal person would.

The Saab 9-3 convertibles are fun little buggers, but with a car like that, I assume you've gotta be a Saab fan to "get it." Its otherwise the same car with neat touches here and there, but it also comes with a special surprise: Crazy cowl shake, yo!

Not even in a straight line? And are the turbos quiet? I guess if these are not noisy and aren't at least quick in a straight line there is no point unless I want to waft around in absolute luxury. :D

And here is my speed definition tree 0-62mph (0-100kph):
Ungodly slow = 10.1s +
Slow = 9.1-10.0s
Average = 8.1-9.0s
Quick = 7.1-8.0s
Fast = 5.1-7.0s
Really fast = 2.0-5.0s

Go away. Torque steer is fun in it's own way.

So is oversteer.;)

Guys, lets keep it clean! :D

G8's are expensive monsters even pre-owned. Way out of my price range.

Hmmm, I guess the electrical issues just haven't been really solved with Chrysler products. My 1989 Dodge Daytona and now my 1997 Chrysler Town and Country have them. *sigh*

Heh, I get it but they need to be quick.

They are "quick," as it were, but I still would reconsider:
LAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGG. And cowl shake. And floppy chassis (chassi?). But hey, you could change lanes without touching the steering wheel!

I'd think maintenence on the Volvo would be rather high (being a twin-turbocharged range-topping luxury car and all), so I'd get the Audi (what generation?).
What is with all of these hairdresser's cars anyways, JCE?

Convertible, price, luxury and convertible. :D I will probably get a Mustang GT or Cobra but the convertible idea I love. Plus the Saabs just look awsome inside and out, definitely better than the Volvo.

That and the Beetle, SLK and Audi TT cabriolet are more hairdesser's cars.

*edit*
Plus since I'm selling my entire video game collection (all 600 or so games) I antisipate getting at least $4,000 on the low end and $5,500 on the high end and add $1,200-1,500 for my income tax refund and at least $1,500-2,000 for my van and I'll have enough money to either pay outright or make a sizable down payment on something.

Cannot afford that. :( I can afford 1993-1999/2001 Cobras but not anything newer.

There is a supercharger kit for the 2V Mustang GT that turns it into a Cobra in terms of the power.

Someone who lives in my town has something similar to that on his hunter-green GT convertible. He does shenanigans. I suppose that is an acceptable alternative, though I would personally try and get a '99 Cobra and do it instead.
What happened to Marauding? I know they have mad clearance issues, but you should be able to do the same thing with one of them (I'd be astounded if there wasn't a kit for it). Not finding any in your price range?

The Marauder seems to be out of my price range and very rare around here. :(

join me and get an S60R.

turbo lag isnt too bad. all 295ft lb of torque available at like 1900rpm. the front wheel drive bias, however, is bad. i love the volvo but i miss the Z oh so much.

S60R's are rare and sort of expensive. I'd love to get one but I like the idea of being able to pay cash for most/all of my next vehicle. I think I am going to revise my price requirement to reflect this. :D

Rare as they are, I was lucky enough to find two dealerships across the freeway from one another that had one. I mean, I had done searches before I got the Z a while back and there weren't any within like, 50 miles, so when I saw the 2 so close I sprung and the dealers weren't able to play the rare card and jack the cost up.

But really, if you like turning, don't get it. I cringe every time I take a corner and cry a bit inside for my long lost Z.
