eBay. Probably not real. But who cares, it's the thought that counts.

I found this post in the advice thread, it might help slightly

:) Clicky :)
Exactly.

Any Jewelry that I bought for my lady, I always went to the same small jeweler. Not only did I get a good deal (jewelry market up is outrageous) I got a great piece. On top of that, the jeweler will remember you the second time, and he'll realize repeat business (which means you get a better discount).

In addition to picking out that piece, make sure to get a bottle of cleaner. This'll tell your lady, that you picked out a high quality piece, and you're thinking ahead.

Good luck, and post pics after you've picked it up.

Holy crap, I gave good advice and I wasn't even around. Glad I could help.

I think I have an idea what im looking for now. They call them "tennis braclets". Looking for silver\diamond look. ill get pics if I find a good one from a jeweler.

I don't usually have this kind opf problem, as my mother runs an antique/jewelry store (not one of those dingy questionable ones though, a decent one), so I have access to jewelry at non-marked up prices!

I go where she wants to go and buy whatever one she picks out. Its the safest way to buy jewellery. Hell hath no fury like a woman who didn't get the right stone and cut.

I would recommend teh jewelry store I got our engagement/wedding rings from but they are local. They have a Web site if you want it.

I got a lifetime guranatee on the rings and can even trade up for a bigger diamond in the future if she wants. They even do free cleanings and all that stuff too.

I don't know what their bracelets run for or what the deals are but after buying the wedding set I know they would be the first place I look.

Slick Eddie works he corner of Hollywood and Vine, if he doesn'y have it in his coat, he can get it in 24 hours ( provided you tell him who you saw wearing it )

Look for the guy with the trenchcoat and shifty eyes.

You'd best hope a girlfriend of yours doesn't find out about your cheep ways,
No offence, you'd get a good slap.

I second that. Avoid the big-name shops, usually the smaller, local shops are far cheaper, and the quality is the same or better. The customer service is better, they're more likely to repair and modify jewelry as requested, without charging you much (if anything). You're more likely to negotiate on the prices with the smaller shops, too.

I'm sceptical of buying online, even though the prices are much less. I can't imagine returning a $500-2000 item by mail...

If this hasn't been said already -

Go local.

Don't buy from a big chain jewelry store. If local it will be unique, not the same as thousand other necklaces across the country.

Works for me, try and right save-as (if you didn't already).
