JGTC S1 Round 3 Race + Results

Technically nobody is allowed to miss a RACE, unless something happens like a ps2 not working like Soyfu or a corrupted mem card like Rabbi this week. Those are excuses making it just impossible to race, the "I DON'T HAVE TIME" excuse just won't work with me. If you don't have time to race then rethink about your priorities and your presence in this series.

Next week after Round 4 we are at the half season, I'll be kicking out some people for sure if it continues like that. Do not come to me after and cry for forgiveness.

Yes I agree about the AI here, much faster. Only managed a 2nd place finish in the actual race, got slammed a few times in the braking area at the end of the main straight, made it a bit frustrating, but overall was still fun 👍

Good luck to everyone in the results

Steve

It's encouraging (for me) to see that some people aren't winning their race, although some of that has to do with the stock numbers of the car being driven. One thing that's for sure, though, is that I will be getting a point for top 3 fastest lap. I just hope that doesn't mean I killed my tire strategy. :nervous:

Do you guys want me to post down here the pitting strategies of everyone after each round since I have them all in the PMs you sent me?

Not really. I think tire strategy is the main force in driver placement, and if a pattern is revealed it could make lap times the only difference between each driver. If someone wants to reveal their tire strategy, then so be it, but each driver should have to figure it out themselves.

time submitted. came in third on the same lap. I am far from happy, but I had a feeling that this track would not be strong for me. But I am still very dedicated to this series and I belive that it is one of the best series out there. I have put in alot of work into preping for Tokyo, Tskuba, and Grand Valley. I really want to make the podium in atlest one of these races, in either qualy or the race.

As far as pit stragies go, yes post them please. In real life you cant hide how many times you pit, or in all honesty what kind of tires or fuel you are running. I also think it would make the racing more competative.

Only had the chance to run this race once this week and it was a disastrous race but as i didn't have time to re-run it i have to submit:tdown:

"Time submitted".

Ran once, could've been like 45secs faster (spun out + a penalty) but just didn't have time for another run. So, my slump continues... :(

I doubt i could get more than 10 with RH on my S2000. But it has a tendancy to push so it is hard on tires, I noticed that the FD does not have a serious push so it may be easy on the fronts.

Thumbs up GT300 drivers, I have all of your times and I'm really proud of you guys. 👍 Looks like your job in the JGTC series is alot more safe than the GT500 guys. :p

What!!?? All GT300 times are in with over 20 minutes left!!! we deserve a gold star!! As opposed to those GT500 guys who live the rockstar lifestyle and wait till the last moment! lol

JK btw :)

Time submitted (at 11:30 p.m. Sunday night, as usual....).

One cool thing was as I was going into the 90 degree right at the end of the backstraightaway, I got the left wheels on the grass, which spun the car sideways and it looked like I was drifting through the turn. I ended up doing this two or three times. :dunce: D1GP meets JGTC. :)

I hated this track before the race and I still hate it, but not as much. The runoff areas are like a freakin' parking lot and time can be gained in about eight different areas by using them. Not that I was doing that, honestly. That and no brake markers and no sector times. Sucks. But I'm feeling more comfortable with the track (although it's a shame what Tilke did to it).

BTW, the 'Mericans 1-2 in MotoGP USGP!!! Go Nicky and Colin (my favorite rider)!!! 👍 👍 Now if they can just get someone who knows the words to the national anthem. :)

You probably still beat me. I took it nice and easy.

OMG I was sooooo thinking that while I was racing "man this must be a tilke track!"

Results are up people. :) Congrats to all the entrants and the podium finishers. Kolyana I'm sure you'll be pretty happy with that podium finish you so wanted. :sly: Thumbs up also Student with your 3rd position.

Rob if you don't mind I have couple of questions.

1- Did you really run on Fuji 2005 GT?
2- You were really able to do 16 laps on RH tires?
3- If all above positive then OMFG you just destroyed us all!

I know little slow on this one, tried 3 tiems to better my first run, and well, just couldn't do it, even with different tire strats. Seems the AI hated me when I went to RH's 👎

Trying MR.. but will guarnteee you I will enter every week (Even if it maybe a last) 👍

Since Eatsviper was posting at same time, had to edit. Gratz Koly.. nice run there, you to Rob .. OMG .. /cry ...

Eats, from convo's with Koly on her pit'ing.. I can maybe see 16.. if people were pitting 2 times that is almost 12 laps each run.. 4 more..

WOW great race rob!! and also congrats to all of the podium finishers!

My only highlite of this week is taking 3rd best lap.

I really plan to wring out the honda for all its worth, in week 4. So we will see how it stracks up to the rest of the class.

Tedril I defiantly want to share notes this week!

God, I suck frickin' ass. I don't wanna make any excuses but I've been pretty slow for the last couple of weeks since I moved back home from school. Don't know WTF is going on but I hope I'll do a better job next round.

Granted I SHOULD be ~45secs faster with an extra attempt, but so does everyone who only went once. But umm...sorry to disappoint, T. :(

3rd best lap? Wow, I guess it just shows you how inconsistent my run was. :ouch:

NP... hopeing that as I learn the car better will give good results. Just wish had the right track on Qual to learn it better ..

Will update the teams and drivers standing tomorrow when I get back home.

Congrats villain on taking 4th in GT500. 👍 4th and 5th for us this week, not bad. :)

It ok, MR .. good run.. ya Picked up a point or 2 also for a best lap 👍 I will try not to be the dust bunny forever.. maybe the Kittens need to just put a little more paw power into the tires for gripping.....

WOW ... I did *NOT* expect a podium this week (or any week, to be honest), but I had a great and clear run with no AI issues and every lap was consistent, so I guess I got something right :p

Viper, and whoever else asked about tire wear, I tried running 14/hard twice and finishing on medium, but I started on the Medium and noticed excessive wear. I switched to hard and could not last 14 or 15 laps ... the tire wear for me was intense (and on the Garaiya with my style, it's even all over). I also noticed that the pits were LONG on this track, so I just went for 2 pits on hard and got lucky on the 1st pit, which put me out just i front of the AI who had yet to pit. On this track, it just seemed to work out well.

COngrats to everyone and thanks to VIper for organizing a fun, fun race. And h0t .. good run man, this week should put our team back in contention, eh. I hope I did you proud ;)

As for Rob ... man, I don't know how you did it. Not only is this the first time you've beaten me, but you WHUPPED up on all of us like we were standing still. OUSTANDING job and an awesome podium (esp. considering you only ran once!!!) I couldn't think of anyoner better to come second to. (And please, send me your replay, because I need to know how I'm losing 2 seconds a lap!!!)

Wow wow wow i have the best GT500 LAP time !!! and i took 4th place - im really happy and surprised with it :)
Congrats to all drivers.
I thik that AI was better this time cos that track hase more long straights and they must break rare.
My tire strategy was: RH/RM to lap 30 (pits on laps 10/20/30) a than RS/RS for last 5 laps - that strategy gave me if im not wrong 10pts - the same as hot6boy (sorryfor short cuting but i cant rember your nick and i dont have it below my post ;) )

:banghead: Oh well I expected to be slow this week as I said when I submitted. At least that 2% weight penalty is gone now :trouble:

Congrats to all the podium finishers! Nice job. Oh and Rob? I just got a call from Toyota...they want their prototype land-rocket back

Seems I am moving up in the world. Also, I finished within 1 minute of the leader. I am fairly pleased with this. Perhaps one day I could finish in a position that would allow me to get some champagne on me. Good race everyone. Seems the GT300 class was not so close this week.
