JGTC S1 Round 6 Qualif + Results

I knocked off way more than the .335 - I'm expecting a podium - if I don't get one serious huge props to whoever beats me (unless your name is veilsidebr, that's a given) :)

An old man and his grandson are watching the qualifying of the JGTC series at the Grand Valley circuit. All day they watched RX7s, Subaru’s, some interesting looking Celicas, an entire fleet of skylines, a young woman pushing an ASL to its limits, and they were even lucky enough to spot a Woodone Supra taking some laps (which is a very rare occurrence, since the driver is a very busy professional who owns a very successful car photography company). Despite seeing all of this action the young boy seems impatient.

“Grand Pa we have been out here all day!! When are they going to come out and run?”

The old man looks at the boy and then reaches into his pants pocket to pull out his trusty old pocket watch. Despite the age of the watch it is accurate and still has some luster to its gold finish. The old man gently lifts the cover of the watch and checks the time. He then closes the watch back up and returns it to his pocket.

“ It shouldn’t be too much longer now; they usually like to start their run later in the day.”

In the pits there is a lot of action, cars constantly leaving the garages, mechanics running up and down the pits to get supplies, and the press is in full force to get a word with the drivers.

“Miss Kolyana!” A young reporter gets the attention of the driver “Could you please comment on the track conditions today?”

Just as the Driver was getting ready to answer the reporters’ question the reporter notices something out of the corner of his eye. He notices that the crowd in the pits is flocking towards the end of the pits. Not knowing what else to do the reporter joins the crowd and walks away from the interview, much to the anger of the driver.

As the reporter gets closer to the final three pit stalls he can hear a noise. It’s a low rumble at first but then the closer he gets it gets louder and louder the pitch also rises.

Back in the stands the young boy has taken notice of all of the commotion

“Grand Pa whets going on? Is it them?”

Just as the young boy finishes the sentence the three garages open up to reveal, three beautiful, sleek, and sexy Honda LM S2000’s. As if the cars were synchronized they pull out of the garage and hit the track. As they exit the pits the drivers open up the mighty four cylinder engines and the shriek of three engines spinning at 10,000 RPMs brings the crowd to their feet. The cars go into turn one for their warm up lap. As the cars go out of sight the crowd in the grandstand focuses their attention on the big screen monitors showing the rest of the warm up lap. Despite being on the other side of the track people on the front straight grand stands can still hear the engines of the mighty Hondas. Then the cars come back into view and the drivers go full throttle down the front straight. The sound of the engines is so loud that all of the spectators cover their ears as the Honda S2000’s run their qualifying laps. After some time, of running fast laps the three cars pull into the pits and their engines are shut off. The track is silent for what felt like an hour the crowd was silent but then upon seeing the brave Honda drives get out their cars and the crowd erupts in cheer and applause.

Although no one remembered where the Hondas actually qualified the, crowd was happy, for they had seen a piece of history. Everyone left the track satisfied that day, but one person in particular will never forget what he saw. The young boy truly understood the magic that is Honda.

I'm actually really unhappy with my time ... I hit some nice targets, but what killed me is that I was leaving my ghost behind on the first section of the course ... but could not hold it through to the end. I hate it when it's like that!!! I don't mind any one beating me ... happens every week ... but getting beaten by myself sucks :(

Time submitted.

I'm in, unfortunately...hopefully i made it faster than at least a few 300 class cars..

Time submitted. I think I could have gained an extra .2 seconds on my lap time, but I really don't care, I'm probably still going to be at least a good half second down from the leaders anyways.

'It seems signing autographs is all i am good for anymore!' said a short Japanese man to himself as he walked toward the pits. He carried himself along in a white and orange driver's suit with 'Autobacs' across the chest. 'There he is, there he is!' called a few fans as they rushed to his side to ask for autographs. 'Oh you don't want my autograph anymore, kid...i'm not the same driver I used to be.' Hiroki Tanabe, better known in Japan as the 'Grip King' was a two time Super Taikyu champion, and was famous in the hills of Japan. However, his career was starting to fade as he grew older, doing nothing but promotion of his grip driving in the mountains to judging drift competitions and making videos. However, he had joined the Autobacs Racing Team Aguri for the JGTC in mid-season in the #8 GT500 NSX. Not long after, he was strapped in, as the Honda V6 rumbled to life and he pulled onto the track for his time trials...would it be the reinvention of his grand career? Or just another step closer to fading into history?

Some very close qualificationt imes there in GT300 ... except the top guys, of course ... Iceman :shakeshead: I don't know how you do it ... awesome run!

omfg 2nd place lol i should of tried that time 1 more time since i went slow as hell in the first section not bad for my 2nd race. eh? :)

I like the way Sagaris took a tenth from me in T1, and held it for the rest of the lap :)

Nice times up the front guys, and a great time from fasj, leading the NSX pack. 👍

And BTW iceman, nice pedal mashing buddy 👍

Even though I'm GT500, I'll post mine in a bit. You will need a maxdrive to look at it though - I'll have a video of it hopefully in a few days.

Congrats to everyone who ran - and Team KPM Motorsports had a nice result from both drivers for once :P

Lets hope I won't get last in the race, haha

Big time outclassed for the Amemiya on this track with the long stretches, tried the Celica and ran 47's like a walk in the park. Alot of cars have the potential to school me here, but I'll do my best with the race none the less. Don't count me out, no way.

Congrats to the top 3 finishers and to everybody else who submitted a time. 👍
