JGTC S2 Teams & Drivers Ranking

Up to date with round 8 included. Overall it's :

Fandango Racing pulling away
VTRacing pulling away and
Andge08 pulling away

Still, nothing is done and final and things could change at any time. :)
 
will try to score some points on Apricot Hill
 
so here´s the deal:

VTRacing - 95 - (+7)
FASJ6418 - 80 - (+7)
ZeratulSG - 80 - (+8)
Casio - 75 - (+3)

38 points at stake, i´m starting to do a little math, but no matter how much confident i am to suzuka, if i score the points i want in this round, then i get to the last round with a GT300 car:crazy:

if i can score 5 points more than VTR, that would cut the lead to 10, but then i would get to last round at +9 or +10... while he would be at +5 or so... very unlikely... i really think casio is in a better position... if you win, you add +4 and get +7 to race at suzuka... if you´re good there you might have an outside shot...

me and zeratul can only get to 118, casio can get 113 points maximum... so the magic number for VTR is 23 points... in 2 rounds...

...which isn't too hard to accomplish considering his performance thus far...

Right now, I think I'm just battling for the 2nd place honors, but as EV4L said, this is motor racing, and anything can happen :)

@Soyfu: On the car specs page, is this only listing the top 6 power to weight ratios in each class for each round?

Actually, it's impressive how well you're doing considering the point losses for not ever grabbing top position. That's probably how you get away with that measly +3 weight penalty. ;)

Other observations:

EV4L - with the exception of round one, always places 5th (+/-1)
VTRacing - I suspect has some sort of unfair advantage with his car
Nuvolari and Drew - total hackers that are messing up the team scoring ;)
Soyfu - if I didn't miss round 2, I could be much more comfortable

Opposite from last season, GT500 has a more dedicated field (consistent participation) than GT300 class.

We love being hackers. In fact that's all we do, go around different series mid season and stir the pot :) Both Nuvo and I will be in from the beginning next season. This is by far the best series at GTP and I'm proud to be a participant.
 
Hmm.....

Should we name our team TH Racing or Rocinante Racing? I think Rocinante means Total Hacker in Spanish, doesn't it? Or was that Super Nag? I can't remember.

The big advantage is in qualifying well. There is effectively 30 points up for grabs with no weight penalty. VT has managed to get over half of these points and that's why he is winning.

Exact, it's because of that consistency that I got screwed in the end. Since I never went up and down in the results round after round like some did I was never able to loose any weight what so ever. See if you're at +4% you just have to make it up and finish close to last and loose that 4%, then you end up at 0 (depending on how many entrants) and then you're good to aim for a win on the next two races easy (exp : one race 1st or 2nd gets you a +3%-4% and then you're still a contender for the next one also for another podium).

Like on R9 I could easily finish last and loose 4% and get a very easy win on R10, but will I do it....no because that's a "the gay" strategy since I always aim at the win. :)

what? THERE IS penalty for the qualify also... if not, then i'm being stupid the whole season...

My car is fast in qualifying, with that speed offset during the races because it's hard on tyres meaning more pitstops. The races I've won in this series have been at tracks that are pretty easy on tyres or can be driven in a way to minimise the wear. But I've made a point of trying to do as well as possible in qualifying with any advantage I have because they are free points, basically.

yes, that was it, i thought he said there was no weight penalty in the qualify... it would be like in this round, you running with 0 weight in the qualify and then +6 in the race... but now i understood what he was saying

VTRacing and Andge08 both with an 11 pts lead going into the last round...will it hold in both cases? :scared:

Fandango Racing with a 30 pts lead on Team Rotarz, unless we see the upset of the century FR should take the team Championship home.
 
Mathematically, any one of the top 5 in GT500 can win going into the last round. For me, I need to score 9 points to be certain of victory in the championship. On the plus side, I guess I get to lose a bit of weight for round 10. :)

Added some new goodies...

Driver rankings:
-kept R8 points in a separate column for comparison with new R9 points
-added new fastest laps tally

Car specs:
-added new "+/-" column to measure weight change since last round
-added sum of all car weights to the bottom of the weight column

Observations...

Car specs:
-total weight of team affiliated rides has dropped significantly since Round 8
-both class leaders start Round 10 at -2% weight from Round 9 and are in a very good position to hold on to their leads
-both class 2nd place drivers have +2% weight making them less of a threat (esp. on a twisty course like Suzuka)
-jctraduz and Soyfu are both positioned (weight-wise) to do well in Round 10

Driver rankings:
-the top 5 GT500 drivers are closer in points than even the 1st and 2nd place GT300 drivers (very tight racing 500's!!)
-EV4L got a huge infusion of points but was unable to move up the rankings
-ride standings in the top 5:

Damn, dropped 2 places in the ranking, but still soooo close. The time between submission and results posting in the last round is gonna be a nail-biter...EV4L you'd better not make us wait too long man, some people could die of nervous exhaustion :lol:

Good luck to everyone in both classes, very tight stuff, and it's all up for grabs in GT500!
 
Soyfu that's a really really nice job 👍 I just love all the stats I can get and those make me :)

We could use some of your tables & graphs and incorporate those in a little website for S2. Let me know if you're still interested to make some for next season. :)

but i need to score 19 and VTR getting a 7th place...

not likely... but well, i hope we have a good fight for the second place also, the top 5 in gt500 is very close...
