JGTC S3 Round 11 Qualif + Results

If I don't get the number of laps for this race soon, probably won't be able to do it. I'll have to leave to organize the first big national GT4 metting here in Portugal (Me and Ricfight are the hosts). I will only be able to race this evening or only on race 12 again.

It's 40 laps

Yea, the race thread is up already.

Good luck on the event. I hope all goes well. :)

OK. Thanks, folks. Didn't see the race 11 thread. I'll race tonight (1 go only) and send the time before leaving.

Hope it's not lost man. I sent a wheel from the US to Brasil, took 3 weeks, but the Postal Inspectors in Brasil, held it for ransom...seriously. They said I had to pay them $175.00 to let it in, otherwise they would keep it...not send it back..KEEP IT! Since I already had the cost of the wheel plus $187.00 UPS charge I paid the SOB's!! My buddy said it's quite common for them to do that, they get alot of good stuff for themselfs. Had to be the most money ever paid for a wheel. Good luck, hope it comes soon.
Nah I think it's safe, it's moving between the Swiss and the Australians, and while those sneaky Australians probably shouldn't be trusted, I'm not too worried :p

EDIT: Bingo, just arrived

Would sure be nice to get the official Quali results!!!

Congrats Zeratul, don't know how you drove so long with the DS2. I used the DS2 for about a month with GT3, there's no way I could drive with it now (3 years later) If my wheel goes bad I'm done until I get a new one...well I do have a spare wheel just in case.

I'm with you, Drew. I'd be majorly hosed without my wheel except for if we were rallying. I too have a spare wheel "just in case"! :^)

Oh, and official results WOULD be nice. Not that late posting is a regular thing or anything...

i had 1´14´090 and i hope to grab those 3 points... unless a dead driver cames back with a light car and takes the pole...:nervous:

Hey Scott, you really use the DS2 for rally events? I love the force feedback in the wheel on rally tracks, but there's no way I could use the DS2. I don't even know what buttons to mash anymore and I don't care to relearn. Nothing against you button mashers, but to me it's just not driving. Maybe if you're young and have never driven a car before, but as an oldtimer it's the wheel or nothing. I can't even drive with two hands on the wheel, gotta have my left hand on the wheel and the right hand on the shifter, same as real life. The only exception is in my '70 Chevelle, it doesn't have power steering and with wide tires it's a bear to turn at very low speeds...two hands and alot of muscle, but once going the right hand is on the T-handle Hurst shifter.
I learned to drive by driving a taxi in New York City, picked up more then a few bad habits, I go thru tires and brakes very quickly, my mechanic says he's never seen anybody as hard on tires and brakes as me, those are very expensive bad habits. Had a new '94 Formula Firebird and went thru 3 sets of tires in 12,000 miles, at $800.00 a pop for a set of feet I sold the car at 13,000 miles.

I agree! Wheels are the way to go, but I'm not fortunate enough to own a wheel compatible with GT4. I do have a wheel though, and I love it! I play the GTR2 demo all the time, and some NFS:MW (not much anymore). I'd like to get a DFP, but I currently have more imporatant things to spend my money on, coughschoolcough.

And just so you know, I'm not a button masher. I'm very delicate with the buttons. :sly:

And umm, results? Eats?...........

Yup, can't drive worth a damn on dirt (in GT4 that is) using the wheel. Opposite is true on tarmac though. Funny, I can't drive my real car without TWO hands on the wheel. I guess it's a habit I picked up on the track (road course) where the only time my hand is off the wheel is when I'm shifting. Shuffle steer, too, not hand-over-hand or pretzel arms...

THREE sets of tires in 12,000!!! Good golly! I'm happy with a set every 10K or so, of course a spare set of gumballs for the track...

Later,

p.s. Yeah, what he said about results...

Heh... You probably go the 3 points unless Casio put in some time, or if M3T got inspired. Funny, though, I still MAY hold 2! :^P.

C'mon all, post your times so we can sleep easy!

About the tyre wear in real life...
How sad that I will never able to set it on "mild".:dopey:
I have a 4wd turbo car and its bad habit that eats the front tires while cornering. My habit is that sometimes I push a little bit harder then a usual driver. These two things make me mad at the end of the summer when I need to buy new tires...
The results? It would be nice to have them...and it would be nice to be a millionaire.:sly:
Maybe I took the pole with 1'20.119?

While waiting for results...hhmmm, check out this vid on Gran Turismo HD. Looks like the're not gonna use the "5". At the end there's a Cobra at Grand Canyon along with the Leno Tank Car ??????

http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/3570

KY said they are also working on GT5.

GT HD is kind of a stopgap between the 2 games, not really GT5, just something to test out online mode and other stuff while we wait for the real sequel.

don´t worry, we will have lots of good online battles with GT5 in...

2008.

-------

since i´m posting... c´mon viper, only 2 rounds left... lets finish, after that you can go on a vacation...

Sweet!

I ain't paying out over £400 for a PS3 until GT5 comes out, so it'll give me some extra time to save up for one!

I mean what's the point, when the only PS2 games I play are GT4 and TT?

Hope Eats has got locked up again, so he has a reasonable excuse for the deley in results posting! (Just kidding.............maybe?)

Next season we need to get a back-up!

Neil

It's a real shame to treat us like this. Many people who promised to stick out the season have left, those of us left are the hardcore and or men that take their obligations seriously. Those of us left have been here every week, most of us never missing a race let alone a deadline. I can understand eats being dissapointed in the attrition rate this season, but us hardcores should be treated with the respect we have given him and the series. Yes, I'll participate again next season, (if there is one,) but a backup Steward is in order to keep the integrity and respect of the series intact.
I'm sure you have a valid excuse eats , but unless you're cut off from the internet entirely a one line note saying the results will be delayed for whatever reason is the least you can do for the loyal drivers that are left. We all show you the respect you asked of us, please show us the respect we've earned.

He was online on Tuesday, so I agree a quick message letting us know what's going on would've been possible. Granted it's a qualy week and this time we have the race thread available, so nothing is held up, but it's still a bit unpleasant.

Viper, I think some folks are losing faith here. Don't let your awesome race series die because of this dude, that would be a shame and very upsetting to us founder-types ;)

Yeah. I agree. I really don't have time for this series, I do try my best to get a race time in, but with only 3 weeks left of school to go, I'm really busy.

But why should I even bother at all submitting a time if the organizer can't even put up the results within 4 days of the submission. Hell, if I submitted my time 3 seconds late it wouldn't be accepted, but being 4/5 days late on your commitments is fine Eats?

It's understandable some things come up. But that's an excuse for 1 week. If it's long term, an explanation is necessary. Or at least say 'I can't tell you why, but I am unable to meet the deadline required for this series, X person can take over until the time is right for me to return.

I've raced almost 2 full seasons now, ~40 Qualify/Race weeks, and I'm seriously considering not joining again next year.

well got a banker in... running on RM's and getting 8 laps per stint, now to try a run with the RS's and if I can, another stint in the RM's.... wish the upshift paddle wasn't all jacked up :(

it says viper was online last night... in his profile... also showed up in my MSN... i don´t get it...

He did say last time something like this happened, that there are others in his house that use his PC and sign-in details.

So maybe that's what happened.

But you would maybe think, if he was out of contact that he would maybe ask for someone to just let us know by putting a post up!

I suppose this could be backlash from what happened last time?

Neil

hmmm. GT4 disc frooze 3 times today... and twice last week... i have a feeling my PS2 is dying... i just hope to be able to end the season...

lol that's my mistake...I was sure I made the qualif results plus the edit in the thread, in fact they are done but I never posted them up! wtf?
