its 180 shig, 177 for me.

i would like to suggest that we have a penalty free last round. stock power and stock weight. i think its fair that way. we would only depend on ourselves, not on results from drivers that have a light car, or just showed up in the last moment for this round.

you have the last word eats, but i think everyone would agree with me. think about it, i might get the last round even more exciting.

just looked, aside from me, shig and VTR, everybody has - weight in GT500... no fun too see how the championship is decided by cheering for other drivers results... just making another point and hoping we can have a penalty free round... what do you guys at GT300 think?
 
Hmm...I'm all for an exciting last round, but that's kinda like saying they should equalize the points between Schumacher and Alonso in Brazil. It doesn't really work, it's about the season as a whole not a single sudden-death race.

Just my 2 cents.

-6 HP & +77 Kg! No way I'm even gonna come close this week! (mind you I said that last race.........and the race before........and the race before!):)

Ah well, off to SSR5 to do DTM, then to Sunny Cali for Laguna! (Sod the jet lag!)

Nice try fasj!! You're gonna have to overcome your greater power penalty (though lesser weight penalty) to beat me! If you hadn't slacked mid-season to play BC, it would probably be reversed right now. If it weren't for my -2 power and redline weight, you wouldn't be as close as you are now.

As it is, I'm not sure you're at much if any of a disadvantage at this track and penalty situation. Let's run this thing and see what comes out the other side.

I'll tell you though, that it's a LOT closer than I expected! Great charge man!

I am in the process of creating the new sign up thread for next season. All that stuff should go up sometimes in the upcoming days (wed-thu).

Hope to have a decent turnout. This time slackers will affect absolutely nothing in the overall long term gameplay.

nah, it wasen´t that... i still don´t know if my car is better or worst than yours in this round. i don´t know how much faster we will be compatring to last year pole. if we can beat that time. jctraduz had a very light car back then...

went to shave a few tenths off this morning and couldn't figure out why I was running a few seconds slower ? hmmm... check the replay, and find myself in my DTM Audi ... what a silly man... LOL ...

So, pole is safe, by a long shot !
As Neil said, I don't think I can get into the same second bracket as the pole from last year.... maybe I should change the nic from Oldphart to brainphart ?

God this is hard this week!

Gonna keep at it though, gotta find a way to do turn 7 faster and more consistant. I just can't get the hang of it tho.:(

Turn 7 is the kink on the way up the hill (don't even notice it as you straddle the white curb). 6 is the gut check left at the bridge...

Yes, that's a challenge for sure. Not looking forward to it on harder tires, but it's similar in challenge to the final chicane at Trial...

p.s. In real life, I don't QUITE have enough power in my car to have to brake for 6, but it IS spooky enough to not go flat through it and the dip at the entry/apex is definitely for real. Either way, you get it wrong and you're in the gravel on the outside, or you spin into the tires/wall on the inside. Very challenging corner.

It's the way the right edge of the track just cuts inward before the corner that gets me.
Why would you do that?
It's almost hidden by the rise and crest under the bridge. You can be happily running down the righthand side of the track and getting ready for the next corner, then all of a sudden you have your two right wheels in the dirt and are heading for the wall:crazy: :banghead:

Bloody stupid, and dangerous, track design if you ask me?

The front straight kink is "Turn" 1, then the hairpin is T2, the next two 90 degree rights are T3 and T4, the fast left at the bottom of the hill is T5, T6 is after the bridge, then T7 (barely there) and T8/8A (Corkscrew), 9 (downhill left, it REALLY compresses the car at the apex of the corner so you can carry scary speed through because of the extra grip...), 10 (fast right), and 11 (final tight left).

Dangerous? Nah, there's plenty of runoff to the right, and a well protected wall to the left (you'd've burned off a LOT of speed if you spun to the inside). Scary and challenging though. The previous GT games made that corner WAY too easy IMHO. They got it pretty "right" this time.

so i actually borrow a PS2 and i´m doing my qualify. my faster time i have 3 wheels on the dark tarmac... then i went to see illegal shots and they are not there... still i don´t want to take unfair advantage of this. can i use that dark tarmac?

shig, you drove there, can you use it in real life? just waiting for this to see which time i submit...

I don't make the rules, but maybe as long as you didn't hit a braking marker? That could suck during the race though if you hit one early and you lose your braking marker for the duration!

I just watched a youtube in-car lap there, and sure enough there's pavement out there, but the brake markers were at least 10 feet to the right of the white line... Just more info...

yeah, that one. i´m sure they put the braking markers close to make it easier to the drivers, but still...

Time submitted, don't anyone worry, I'm no threat at Laguna...I hate it!! Have never been good on those fast turns, turn 2 I have never figured out, and I've tried for the last 3 years!!!

Not looking so good for me now!!! Tied in team GT500 points, and just 2 ahead in individual. fasj's on quite a roll of late so it all comes down to this last race. Gotta beat him!

Looks like my partner finally threw in the towel in the last race... Hey Eric, it was fun while it lasted. Sure we couldn't realistically win it all, but we could have finished strong.
