RULES : Standard online racing rules for clean racing applied when ever possible.

Race :

Minimum of 2 wheels on track
Rumble strips are part of the track
No intentional AI contact
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No cheating of any kind

Since this is a semi-enduro format (just under 1h each round) we can’t really ask for 100% error free races. But you must still follow the same basic rules layed down for qualifications and use them when ever possible. Since you are racing with other AI cars little incident may occur and result in an excursion off the track, those are normal racing battles. Passing another car should always be done with caution and fair play just like in real life.

My time was submited.
Good luck to you all.
Let the force be with you, jc .:sly:
I had fun with this one.

Best luck to Portugal with the World Cup 2006, and I'll trust them to win today the first match with Angola.
Good luck also to Brasil.See you at the Final.

Just one word to Renault and Alonso: Nice job done trought the Qualify...
Shumacher can imagine now what could have happened in last Mónaco qualifying.. lol.

Can´t miss the Race.:nervous:

Got a banker race, but I hope to improve.👍

Finding this a very hard track to concentrate on for 38 laps.

It is a difficult track because of all the off-camber, hill-crest and blind corners. :nervous:

But for some reason I also find it VERY boring to race on.:indiff:

45% of my brain wanders off, gently humming the Italian national anthem to it's self(Don't ask me! It must be something they put in the wine),
45% sit's in a corner, drooling, and watching two purple & orange coloured rabbits (wearing really sparkly shoes) run round and round in a cage like chipmonks,

And the remaining 10% is screaming at the other two to get back here and concentrate on the bloody exit to the second chicane, before I go in too tight, catch the lip and get span to a standstill in the parking bay!

Problem is, that it has been doing this for the last 4 days so it's throat is sore!:odd:

Started about 6 races today, and had to abort 5 of them (two at around L31-33) because of boredom.

Hey! But that's me! Call me Crazy!

I'm enjoying testing so far. I've gotta say that I'm getting amazingly even tire wear here and the track is very easy on orange tires (where other tracks severely penalize you time-wise for trying to extend a stint).

I've got two strategies that I'm deciding between... I REALLY enjoyed last race on RH all race. Seemed to be the only one in GT500 on that plan.

Boring?
I feel damn good in this race, this was a really good choice.Cool.:dopey:
Don't drink too much,Bttw and everything will be O.K...
Shig, tried the hard tires but don't love them. Can't keep my speed and it's too slippery for me and waste a lot of time using'em.There's some trick I think and I don't know it.

RH/RH ARE great! long lasting, and Infineon is very nice to them until you pretty much burn them all the way off (superred).

As for tirewear, i end up w/ a little too much front wear than i'd like, but i guess it's my driving style. I'm trying to quit, really i am!

And yeah, this course demands concentration. Once late brake, and it's into the grass. Miss 1 apex, and you miss 3. It's brutal, but fun.

Back from an awesome weekend visiting friends in London, damn it's hot over there :)

Thanks to all the non-submitters for qualy this week, you helped my time seem less terrible :sly:

Lots of testing ahead of me starting tomorrow night. Looking forward to this track 👍

The RH's just don't make mathematical sense for me. I did much testing and the RH's just didn't cut the butter. Time slower each lap multiplied by 38 is more then 2 pit stops for me. I've found since last season there are only 2 or 3 tracks where hards worked out better for me....tiss my style..

What I'm really having trouble with is getting Neil's brain description out of my skull :

"two purple & orange coloured rabbits (wearing really sparkly shoes) run round and round in a cage like chipmonks,"

Thats friggin scary dude!!! It's the Sparlky shoes that's messin with me.

Well, there was no drink or drugs involved in my little 'distraction' episodes, unfortunately! :sly:

So I can't blame that! It's just little old me failing to concentrate for a long enough period, on a track that is challenging but bores me to tears.
It bores me SO bad, that I am finding it hard to motivate myself into yet another hour. Don't worry Brad, I will though.

I seem to remember someone said that Monaco was putting them to sleep when we were there. So I'm not alone.

Different strokes, for different folks.

But hey, I thought it would give you all a laugh.

Feel no pressure from me! It's suppose to be fun, not a chore!

What I do during my JGTC races, is listen to music, loudly. Because I have trouble sitting in the one spot for an hour, never mind doing laps. Just so happens that 'The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium' lasts ~56 minutes, so that gets a work out. Although lately 'Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam has' taken over as the driving CD of choice.

I can't listen to music, it takes away from being able to listen to the engine to shift. I can't pay attention to the shift lights and/or tach while watching ahead.

Bank Race in, might have time for 1 more before the weekend. camping thurs-sun is going to cut in on GT4 time terribly

Me too!

Have tried to listen to music, especially when driving the 'Ring', but I like to hear the engine and the tyres.

@Brad

Got the job done mate!
Think it will stand up, but not very high
Might just give it another couple of runs tomorrow or thursday, see how awake I feel at the time.

Neil

It doesn't really bother me that I can't hear the engine noise. By a few laps I've dialed myself in and I just subconsciously shift. I even change my shifting finger without noticing until I get in a muddle and find my index finger is starting to rest on the Triangle button.

Same with tyre noise. You should be able to feel the limits of the car, long before the tyres start giving way.

But I'll do an experiment. I'll do a lap with paper over the speedo/tacho etc. TV Sound muted. And some music blaring away in the background. And see how my lap compares with one that doesn't.

I can hide the speedo and all the on screen info, the only thing I need to hear is my engine. I never look at the shift light and I always drive by listening to the motor. So at every second I know pretty much dead on the RPM range I'm at. In my case muting the TV would probably affect me alot.

We did a challenge over at another site a few months ago, where we ran 5 laps with sound on and 5 laps with sound off. Everybody except one did horrible without sound. Like eats I never look at the tach or speedo when driving... real life or Gran Turismo, just let me hear the engine and I'm fine. I won't even turn the radio on when I'm driving my Chevelle, number one you can barely hear it over the engine (flowmaster duel exhaust), number two there's nothing on the radio that sounds as good as a V8.

Gotta agree with Drew22 there, if I'm driving around town I'll crank up the music, but when I wanna really drive, the radio goes off so I can hear the beautiful sound of that rotary as it winds its way around to 9,000rpm :D

Though to be honest, I do glance at the tach when I drive, in RL and GT4. More of a peripheral vision thing than a direct look now that I think about it...dunno haven't driven my car in a while, it's sitting back home in the garage :(

When I'm racing, my laptop has all my music on shuffle... it can make for an odd situation though when some decidedly non-driving music comes on.

I always seem to overcook corners when listening to Van Halen - Panama... I wonder why.

Ran one banker race earlier this week with one drive through, and ran another one last night. On average I might have been a TAD slower on average, but I was only 10 seconds or so quicker overall.

Could a drive through be that small a penalty here?

Anyhow, I hope to have another go tonight if not two. A very fun race.

We'll see!

Had a little R/L hassel the last couple of days,
and also,
now my right knee is playing-up and locking if not moved every thirty seconds or so, just like the left. (It's really painfull when the knee-cap releases it's self, and jumps)

So haven't re-ran after the other day.

Wait and see how the knee is tomorrow after some more rest, and I'll be back in the seat for one last run b4 submitting.

Am looking forward to route 5, I have always liked the track for some insane reason.

Neil

I just can't seem to stay concentrated on this track... it's ridiculous. This has not been a fun race, but hopefully I'll get a clean run in before deadline.

I loved this race. Tires were very predictable, excellent wear balance on non-staggered compound, handling with my overly heavy car was great, and I kept dropping time. One of the best tracks in the game IMHO.

Ran 3 races and I think I'm done for the week. Dropped 8 seconds then 12 seconds more in those races.

Sucks about the 10 second penalty, but we'll see if it matters or not.

NOT looking so forward to SSR5 as it might be a tire wear nightmare, but we'll see.

Doubt I'll have time to run another race on Father's day, and I'm still catching up on the Le Mans race on my TiVO.

Later,

Ahh!

Another one suffering from the 'purple and orange bunnies with really sparkly shoes' syndrome!

Time submitted.

Not a strong showing from me this week. I only had time for 2 runs...my 2nd one was faster and with a stronger tire strategy, but was ruined on lap 32 by a blind Zonda backmarker who thought it would be fun to put us both in the wall at 200kph+...costing me a bad spin and a penalty, all on my in-lap  I didn't have time for another run, so my slow banker run will have to do :(

Time submitted, not too bad! Had a case of the "Sparkly Shoes" myself and missed my third pit....hey I only had 8 laps to prepare!! Off to SSR5, love that track.

Time submitted.
would have run a couple more races, but i was at the real track thursday night through ... well...right now. So i guess my time will have to do.

And to answer your question Shig, a drive-through costs you about 35 seconds total...at least it did me.

Time sent to Eats!

Not happy with it, but knee's too sore to stand an hour-long session :ouch:

I can manage just about 5-6 laps b4 having to take a break, and that wouldn't be condusive to a good consistant run.

Ah well, I know I am beaten by at least a couple of guys, and have no doubts there will be loads more.

Done a few laps of route 5 though, and it is loads of fun in these grippy cars.
