JGTC S3 Round 5 Race + Results

I guess I have a serious problem. I made my race yesterday, but didn't use the usual sheet of paper with the times and pit stop laps, since it was a last minute race within the time window I had to give it a try to both the portuguese and the GTP races, both with deadline today (th eportuguese race is writen, but the GTP's not). Today, a few minutes ago, when I switched my PS2 on to see the time (that I can't remember) and make the report (pit stops and fastest lap), I got an error message stating it can't read the MC card and asks if I want to format it.... ???? since the race lasts longer than the 45 minutes still available until the deadline all I can do is keep trying to read the MC or.... miss the dealine. I'll keep trying.....

Nope. No success. Tried to put the MC in the first slot. Cleaned it and changed it, but nothing. I made the race quite tired and didn't take any notes, so It will be a blank race for me, for the first time. Can't evem remember my total time... beacause I was almost sleeping when I did the race. Finished saved it, and went to sleep.

Sorry all, specially to eats, for not delivering this time. I'll try to make up in the next ones....

Can anyone help on how to try to recover or format my "probably damaged" MC? It appears in the PS2's Search routine (not sure if it's the right designation in English) but I can't access the files inside it... should I assume it's lost and it's time to buy a new one (It has my TT save in it, besides my JGTC race!!!!)

If all you want to do is format it you can use the Maxdrive software to do it.

Have you tried to read the memory card using the Maxdrive?

Sorry man, it's probably gone. I've never been able to get one to work after a reading problem. Those MC's are quite touchy, lots of people (myself included) lost their initial GT4 game until it was figured out that all the auto saves in GT4 were killing the MC's, now everone sets it to restricted save.I make backups now , but not as regular as I should. Wish I had better news, but I've never seen one get fixed after a reading problem.

Didn't even think to try with the MAX drive because of the error, but I'll give it a try....

Well, I'm a douchebag. No time submitted for me this week... we had relatives over and blah blah. Forget excuses. I just didn't submit. :grumpy:

Well, Maxdrives tend to corrupt data, but I've always had autosave ON on GT4 with no problems...

Anyone else care to share their time tonight? Hope eats isn't off on one of his binges again... :^)

I still don't see how you managed a 1'21.950 with +10% AND -2% power!

Great lap man...

Make that twenty-five hours...

Next time, just forward to me the results and I'LL tabulate them.

jeez^2...

Twenty-six hours... Le Mans was a great race! Made me want to drive on that track on GT4. Drove Infineon instead. Submitted on time. Watched most of the Speedchannel coverage from la Sarthe. Still submitted on time.

Could have watched the ENTIRE race, and then raced TWO JGTC events!

tick...tock...tick...tock...

Twenty-seven. What a wonderful number... Wonder what the illegal areas of SSR5 are so I can start qualifying. Got nothing else to do but to keep looking here. Oh, wait, don't know what power to run...

<BRB>

I don't think this will make them come faster

Go outside. Get some fresh air. Solve a rubix cube. Help homeless people. Do a puzzle. :sly:

twenty eight... plus...

The only way I know to solve a Rubik's cube (and I was alive and worked on the damn thing on the bus on the way to school when it first came out) is to take it apart. Must be the mechanical engineer in me.

So, Brad, what time did you manage? It'd at least help alleviate my anxiety a bit.

56'01. Lost about 30 seconds in the last 5 laps with a couple big offs. I didn't get a penalty because I always rear ended the wall. I lost it once on that down hill left sweeper. And again on the corner straight after T2.

59'32.989 with 4 pits-no penalties. Thought eats was gonna post in a more timely manner this week? OK eats another penalty for ya...soon you're gonna be losing points in every race :)

Go to page 6 (at bottom of this page) and go to tenth thread down (JGTC Round 8 Quali & Results) to see the times at SSR5 from last season.

That was last season, the competition is a bit stiffer this season. Sorta wish I was still driving the Altezza Touring car.

Well, bu**er me slowely with a big stick!

Eats has been on-line, posted that the BATracer thing is gonna be a none starter...........There goes another £10 for the kool-kits thingy!

And still no results, no power/weight settings, no way of running a valid quali time....:grumpy:

Come on Eats,

We have to stick to deadlines, have to send our times in the perfect format, have to stick by your rules, 'like it or lump it'!

How about some Quid Pro Quo?

If you know you can't get the results up in a timely fashion, ask one of the other guys you trust to do it for you.
Shiggy's offered to do it!

Not a happy camper!

Neil
