RULES : Standard online racing rules for clean racing applied when ever possible.

Race :

Minimum of 2 wheels on track
Rumble strips are part of the track
No intentional AI contact
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No cheating of any kind

Since this is a semi-enduro format (just under 1h each round) we can’t really ask for 100% error free races. But you must still follow the same basic rules layed down for qualifications and use them when ever possible. Since you are racing with other AI cars little incident may occur and result in an excursion off the track, those are normal racing battles. Passing another car should always be done with caution and fair play just like in real life.

Darn, I already ran a race with the Forced Pit on . Guess I'll have to rerun... would have anyway. Just looove this course, it's always been one of my top 5 circuits. We just ran this exact race a few months ago (Race 8, S1). Using a totally different strategy this time, a big reason is that since racing in this series since last season, I've gotten alot better with tire wear....thanks eats!

Yo Drew, probably doesn't matter unless you had two hard hits in a lap. Since pit in is more of a penalty than a single speed limiter (I THINK)...

Don't love it as much as Infineon, but it's easy to drive (so far, only on RSS/RS though...).

Seeya!

Shaping up to be very interesting... Based on testing, any of three strategies are projected to finish within three seconds of each other... Interesting!

It all comes down to if I can stretch the tires to the predicted stints or not.

We'll see...

-SHig

Damn, missed the quali deadline. Too busy in RL and bloody well forgot! :dunce:

10 Second penelty for me! I suppose it had to happen, sometime.:guilty:

Bugger!

OMG! Stats guy!

I think Magic Numbers Racing needs three drivers for next season! :)

Banker race done... The damned AI is a bit tricky this week. If I pass leading onto the front straight, they draft by in the tunnel, slowing me down, especially on hard tires. Had a couple of penalties for AI contact so I know I have at least 15 seconds to make up.

I THINK I have my strategy chosen though...

-SHig

Ran a couple more races...

1 penalty (damn AI), lost a second...
0 penalties (FINALLY!), shaved 9.

Probably done.

Fun race, though not looking forward to Denger Curve...

-SHig

Banker race done by me too!

Beaten last years race and fastest lap times but not looking forward to the 10 sec pen.

Might give it another run after the footie this afternoon.

Time submitted. After running the race 5 times I finally got where I wanted...just by a hair, a very interesting time, not necessarily good but interesting.

Do any of you guys that run a race 5 or 6 times feel it's not quite fair to those that have only time to run once? As for myself, had I submitted my first time it would have been almost 40 seconds slower then my final race...and I do feel a bit guilty about it.

Last season at this course I got pole in quali, but came in fourth in the main, so I went back to the S1-R8 thread to see the pit and tire strategy of the winner (Nuvolari) and basically used his strategy, with a few little tweeks. I also found that by running an extra lap after my tires were red I only lost about 2 seconds, doing this four times saved me a pit, which takes more time then the 8 seconds lost on reds, it also enabled me to run the last stint on RS/RS tires.
Good Luck everyone...off to Round 7!!

I too felt that tire strategy is KEY this week. At first based on my calcs it was going to be a close result between a few strategies, but after running and getting a feel for tire degradation and stint lengths, I decided on a particular plan.

I ran three full races, and aborted two more at less than half way due to contact.

Time Submitted.
RL cost me this week, only had time to run ONE race this week. and that had 3x penalties. Oh well, looks like diet time for me!

Time submitted. Very happy.

You know how you get one of those almost perfect races. I had one. No Penalties. No Spins. Although had a close call with a 350z which had seemed to have run out of fuel on lap 10

Anyway. I gave my last years race/fastest lap a right old spanking.

Submitted...

Spanked (to use Casio's term) fasj's time in my car from last year. :^)

Couldn't figure out why times are soo much faster this season at SSR5. But after checking settings I noticed that last season HP ranges were 282-318, and this season they're 301-332 for the 300class.

I don't think I even did a lap which was slower then my last years fastest lap

I only have 10 more HP this year, but I do have a lot less weight (+5 v +1)

EEK! Hope you ran a lot of pitstops there or I may be in trouble this week!!

Time submitted. Very poor showing this week. I put in a banker run, with incredibly solid, fast, consistent laptimes (which I was never able to come close to again for some reason) yet with 3 penalties and a couple of spins.

I tried 3 more times, with the same strategy and a couple of different ones, without success. So I am forced to submit my time as is. My only hope is that my fastest lap was pretty decent so maybe I can scrape an extra point out of that.

Good luck all 👍

Time submitted to Eats.

Not happy, but didn't have the time to run it more than once!

Ahh well!

Blast!! Great race man. 👍 👍 I may have been able to top that, but it would've been tough. I considered going RM/RM 7 lap stints and 5 stops, but there ain't no WAY I'd've been able to lap down in the '14's! Or are you saying that you managed to stretch RS's for 7 laps?!

Anyone else?

Yep. I did them for 7 laps. By the end of the 7th they are pretty bloody red, but I maybe only lost 1-2 second per lap on the 7th lap. However, if I had of pitted 6 times, I would have had to have made another pit-stop, so even at 2 seconds per lap x 6 stints it cost me 12 seconds. Another pit-stop would have cost me 30+.

It's quite odd really, I don't go so well on fresh tyres, but once they start getting yellow/red I get the faster times.

That 1'14 was the fastest lap I saw by a long way, it wasn't even a drafting a car down the straight lap, I don't know how I did it.

Haha, 6th place! Wow. I guess everyone stunk this week, because that was my first and only run, and it certainly wasn't pretty. It also helps that hardly anyone submitted a time :sly:
