JGTC S4 Round 1 Qualif + Results

Congrats everybody!! Can't feel as though I have a slight advantage since I've been driving the RX7 chassis all last JGTC season and 6 -8 weeks in the GTPLMS series currently being run. I spend more time in the RX7 then all other cars combined, so we know each other quite intimately....well real well anyway.

It's gonna be a fantastic season for JGTC!!!

Coolness. Shame it's going to be impossible to get any qualification points this season though, that was definitely one of my strong areas...

Almost no reason to put in that extra hour or two to move up a couple notches in the lower ranks. Shaving 8 seconds off of my time moved me up a couple spots, but eh.

And I'm sure you love me Eats... It's all good though, just saddened and frustrated. I'll stick it out. 👍 And I hope to stop whining sometime soon here. Thanks for not kicking me out yet, lol.

EDIT: Drew, it's all good man, you just wait for us to start getting used to things... :sly: (not necessarily me, but... 👍)

And it's a shame to see we have some DNSes!?! :(

Oh man... i r slow. I turned at least 50 laps on this with about 15 race restarts and 3 finishes. I had lots of problems in lap 2-3. If I could make it through the "danger zone" I could usually finish without incident but most of my trashed runs ended in the first few turns of lap 3.

Main lesson learned... Turn 1 is not a place to make up time. Just take it easy and focus lining up the exit (otherwise I end up in the sand).

This two race per round thing has to go
I'm undecided on this. I want atleast a few more rounds before making a change.

Congrats Drift for the pole, and Drew nice podium there :)

Wow I'm a bit surprised I managed a podium to be honest. This car doesn't suit my driving style too well, too much understeer. The penalty of not having time to test prior to car selection  No matter, I'll adjust to it, but it's a bit of a dog in the turns.

I agree about turn 1 being a lousy place to do anything but go defensive. My problem is that I take a very strange line into the turn 1 & 2 complex (strange compared to the AI) and they always managed to slip past me on the inside. Fortunately they're all horribly slow out of turn 3 so I can usually regain my position, but it makes for some interesting back and forth action :)

Onward to the race 👍

It's our understeer... Just have to take it a little differently so you can take the defensive inside line and make them deal with it. The fact that the AI are on RM tires for the race helps a lot. As do the availability of the RS tires for us. But seriously, I know what you mean a million times over, they'd always sneak the inside line on me on the exit or something and just get back in my way after I worked so hard to get ahead of them.

Yes, I take the first left bend at about the middle of the track and use half break while I drift toward the outside and begin to turn in. Then I make a standard out-in-out turn, hitting the apex. The AI just hugs the inside line with their RS tires. :)

I was 13 seconds off the pace lol, ive got alot of catching up to do.

  to the podium 👍

Neil ? Mate ? ... don't like the track ?

I actually finished where I thought I would. Wasn't rocket science to figure out the fast laps and overall times... though the pole.... Yikes !! that was scary :nervous:

Thanks guys! I guess I just figured this car out in that last run, it was a joy. Hopefully the other team ram-rod car will get things going so we can finish strong here at Apricott Hill. Congrats to everyone else behind me... j/k guys I realize that it's just beginners luck.

Impossible, if you are that fast you should and will back it up easily. If not, then something is wrong.

I was that fast in the time trials, just trying to get more used to the car and track without the annoying ai, but it wasn't until that final run that it all came together. I had run a 13.9 prior in a race but that was when I was racing with the Mac so I figured it was the added draft. I wasn't really sure it was possible but I'm quite happy with the result!

Congrat's to ALL! and especially to the podiums!👍

Good times there guys, pity I was too slow to get on the third step, but Drew's second place, and my fourth, gives us a good start to the season!

Yes, shame there are DNS's, the only question should be 'Why guys?'

i had computer problems and was unable to use the internet .. theres no need to ask why anyway .. we are paying for it with a 10second penalty

Don't take offence Marty! Now't meant by the question, honest.

Just Eats (and we) sometimes get a little 'squirrelly' and we like explanations or reasons for DNS's.
It helps him and us to trust everyone.
And, gives us a reason to take the piss!

Valid reasons could include: No internet, power-cuts, Max-drive has eaten my replay/memory-card, dog has eaten my PS2, the missus/girlfriend/boyfriend/partner/mistress(preferably Whip-lash) says "stop racing, let's get funky", just before submission time..............stuff like that!:sly:

 Ther real reason >> Del was kidnapped by three women from Sweden .. taken to a remote island off the coast .. and had to partake in some unusual activities while scuba diving with hammerhead sharks , the whole experience put him into a coma for two days .. he was going to mention it but thought no-one would believe him .. thank GOD someone like you would Balls 👍

Now that's a believable excuse mate!

The list was in reverse order of believability!:D

Anyway!
Your starter for ten!
What do the accronim 'SCUBA' acually stand for?

And the follow-up for 20 is:
Who invented the Scuba system, and why?

(no looking it up on Google, or any other search engine for that matter!) Honour system at work here guys!

Neil

Cousteau 'invented' scuba >> mainly to get away from Swedish women and Hammerhead Sharks

SCUBA = stupid conclusive undergarment botox apparutus

:sly:

Very close!

But no SEEGAAR!

Yes Cousteau invented it!
To enable him to properly film his famous series! (and get away from his insatiable Swedish Female crew, oh!, and hammerheads)

And it stands for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apperatus

So, I'll give you 1,345,231 points for getting close, AND being inventive!

Never say a Scouser isn't generous!

Oh, and just for curiosities sake,
Why would anyone need Botox application equipement built into an undergarment?
I have no wrinkles down there!
At least not when the missus gets close enough to make comment, that is!

So I suppose "Stupid Conclusive" are the appra'po words! :D
