That 45 seconds a pitstop includes the in-lap and out-lap (5 seconds each) that you will see if you work it out.
And the figures are pretty much solid. Drew and I worked it all out to the n'th degree last season and through the DTM series.
The pitstop actual is about 35 seconds pit-entry(pit-board coming up) to pit-exit (START coming up)

Some variance is afforded by the length of the pit-lane and the entry to the pits.
But the rest is solid!

I'm just saying that I do NOT average 13.5 seconds a lap. No way no how. I don't think my fastest lap was even that fast(RS/RS). Which means in my case, your 45 second figure does not work.
 
If you can get 16 laps out of those Hard tires you can't be running faster then a 1'17 average. Granted thats still pretty nice... More power to it if you can do it.

My pit stops are taking between 31 seconds and 35 seconds depending on the set of tires I come in on or leave on. And I do average 13.5 seconds a lap :-P (on softs)

Ok, let's put this pit-stop time debate to bed with some hard facts:
I took my RX7 into the pits 4 times at different speeds (to simulate going in on knackered tyres or not)

All 4 pit-stops took between 34.84 & 35.13 seconds from the instant that the pit board comes up to the START signal, and some of that slop could be my error on the stopwatch I have dangling off my gearshift.

Honestly, who has a stopwatch perminantly within 2 inches of thier right hand while racing? Me, that's who! :crazy:

Fuel fill-ups from empty to full are the only thing that vary that figure, hense why I started using fuel management last week in the LMS @ Le Sarthe.

But at this course with this race length, fuel is irrelevent.

I was just seeing how much time it costs me by taking the average of the run and then subtracting the average from the pit entry and pit exit laps and that leaves me with my answer.

Yeah, I'd think the proper way to do it is to add your pit in lap and pit out lap
and then compare that total with the total of two other laps where you aren't pitting. The difference between the two sums would be the amount of additional time taken for a pit stop. Neil, I think your method doesn't count the fact that you'd be driving by the pits normally? Or something? I dunno.
 
Ive had very little time to run this race and wanted to try another tyre/pit strategy .. but it'll have to wait another day .. sending Delfinos times .

Times submitted, because I was sick most last week I only ran twice.

Notice my new avatar, I just bought that 1934 Chevy yesterday at an auction. Has a massive 60 HP. Suicide doors, straight 6 with a 1 barrel Weber carb.

The car was professionally frame off restored 36 years ago and for the last 35 years it has been in a Museum in Nashville Tennessee (right next to one of Elvis's cars) Car has 460 miles on it, everything is 35 years new. I was wanting to bid on a 1940 Packard convertable, but the bidding started at $40 K, so I got the Chevy at a steal. Got it up to almost 50 MPH today and with mechanical brakes that's fast enough.Even at 30 MPH you need to start braking about 100 yards before you need to stop. It's definatly a show winner, now I need another garage, I kicked my Chevelle outside to put the '34 in the garage. Now my problem is how to get two cars to car shows...and I also need to find a garage to rent in my neighborhood.
 
Drew, cool news! Don't mess with the '34 too much, though. 60hp is plenty! :)

First race was perfect, right out of the gate. No restarts, no errors. Just smooth laps and 2 pits. The only thing I'm worried about is that I wasn't really picking up speed on low fuel like I thought I would. I put in some of my slowest laps in the second half of the race. Still, I think I'll be happy with my time.

I'm not altering anything, I want it totally stock, if I want speed I'll jump in the Chevelle.
 
You drive the Oldie to the shows, I'll drive the Chevelle. Deal? :lol: Looks like a nice find! And yeah, in that kind of shape, you'd be stoopid to start modifying it. 👍

I submitted about an hour and a half ago, maybe left 5-15 seconds in it the way I was going about things(5 pit stops :p). Who knows, hopefully we'll see the results in a few minutes. :)

I forgot all about submitting my time this week, luckily I remembered when I woke this morning. Got my time sent in with 5 minutes remaining on the deadline :scared:

After quickly going through my replay (to get fast lap and other info) I saw how much time I had lost during my run, just with inconsistency. Oh well, on to round 2.
 
Times submitted... very disappointing race for Team Ram-Rod. I was on the pace I estimated I could achieve and then I got tangled up with the viper on my faster set of tires trying to lap him and lost about 9 seconds... aside from that it was great! Finished with a best lap of 1'12.313 though

TizzleP didn't have a very good day either... he only ran the race once and finished in 3rd but 1 lap down after suffering 3 penalties...

Look for Team Ram-Rod to turn things around next week at the fast Fuji Speedway 90's.

Not very happy with it, on the whole.
3 stopper in the end, two stopper was just that little bit slower!

Fastest lap of 1'14.194 in this race RM/RM for the whole race, pitting on laps 8/16/24

Was racing right up to 12:54 local, 16:54 EST! :scared:

Not done that for a while!

Lol, nice Neil. Fastest lap for me was 1'13.152 I think in my submission. Saw a 1'12.9 once out of my 4-5 races.
 
Was definately a squeaker!

To be honest I put too much time into the LMS, and left this till it was too late. Then I p;$$ed around trying to get a 2 stopper, for too long. Came to my senses this morning and had so many trashed runs because of the fracking AI, that this last run was a complete 'Hail Mary'
If it hadn't worked out ok, I was completely scr£wed!

Unfortunately, or fortunately, I realised that it would infact be too slow to do a two stopper.
So my times a three stopper, instead!

Had all my lines, braking points, turn-in points all worked out, then had to scrap the lot, when I decided to do a three stopper instead, yesterday evening (Just to compare).
When it showed at the halfway point, it was gonna by faster to do the 3 stopper, I was a little gutted!
I wanted the 2 stopper to be faster:grumpy: , Ce' la Vite!

I wondered if a 4 stopper on softs would be faster still, but ran out of time to attempt it.

I see I see... Yeah, I figured the pit stops were costing me 34-36 seconds depending on the in and out laps. Did four stints on RS/RS and one on RM/RM. I could've managed all on RS/RS tires, but didn't want to have to worry about tire wear. I'm just not THAT consistent. I like to push. :)

Results up, now no need to jerk off and start acting crazy about it if you're at the back of the pack. A small value correction will take place and introduced for R2, after that nothing else will move for the rest of the season.

Great start of season, very very close field. 👍 To all who submitted.

Coolness. :) I wasn't quite expecting to be THAT far back, but it's all gravy. Actually, it's not THAT far back, it's just that close! Very nice and tight racing indeed! 👍

Oh, and my pit strategy was a 5 pit one...? Or am I misunderstanding something?
