RULES : Standard online racing rules for clean racing applied when ever possible.

Race :

Minimum of 2 wheels on track
Rumble strips are part of the track
No intentional AI contact
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No cheating of any kind


Since you are racing with other AI cars little incident may occur and result in an excursion off the track, those are normal racing battles. Passing another car should always be done with caution and fair play just like in real life.

You seriously HAVE to get yourself a DFP buddy!

Have a scout round the 'planet', I believe there is a forum/thread somewhere that is specifically for the DFP, and sometimes someone has one they no-longer want going cheap!
Or look on E-bay!

In fact here's one I found, in the US, with less than a day to go, and going for a song!

Nah nah nah... I've driven one before... I actually won a week in the WRS with it... But every other time I've tried using it I hated it. And at my current place I don't have anywhere to put it. Actually, I could probably borrow Pat's because he doesn't use it. I dunno.

And yeah, that one's super cheap.

Tempting, yes... But the main thing is I don't have anything that I could comfortably place it on. And I didn't love using it too much. If I gave it more time I know I'd be fine for the most part, but I don't want to! Maybe with the next wheel that comes out I'll finally make the switch.

Lame excuses, I know. :)
 
Ok since the people who answered all basically said they didn't mind if we were running during holidays we will do that then. JGTC staying open. :)


And for the ones who never raced SSR5 with JGTC cars....well it's just sick. I'm at 0% weight this round, it's now payback time WoodOne taking 1st position on the main race bet the house on it. :D
 
So don't forget you have to submit before Dec 24th 8:00pm EST, so be smart and start racing earlier so you don't have to use the lame "I don't have time to race on Christmas day" excuse.

Worst thing is....I know some will send that in my PM box, so if that's the only good thing you can send then don't do it. :lol:

Well, yet again I can't say that I like racing with the AI when they're on stickier tires. Too much understeer.

Qualifying is for qualifying! Not racing. :p

Nothing clean yet, but down to 1'16.9 for fastest lap... Hopefully I can get 9 laps near that, and only one that's slower... :)

Anyone else start racing yet? Seems kinda quiet...

I've had one run so far, it was far from clean. Fastest clean lap was a 1'17.4xx, heaps more time to fall off that though.

I HATE this track!

City courses aren't my forte anyways, but i think this is the first time i've raced SS5 in months. I'm just hoping to finish this weeks race...it's going to be brutal.
 
Pit-in penalties yep you'll have to be careful this round for sure. So the win won't necessary go to the fastest driver. :sly:

Fast + penalties = average time
Decent speed + flawless run = chance for the win

JGTC hates me... :ouch: Hahaha. We'll see what happens. I enjoy this track usually, so who knows. I sure hope I get enough time to play to get something that I'm actually somewhat happy with though.
 
Made a few runs,best lap so far 1'16.1xx,don't know exactly,but it's a real hard fight with the Supra.To be honest to you,I took the Pitwork to the race too...Well,I feel this is the round of the Nissans.
Maybe tomorrow I'll give a shot to the qualifying again.Hopefully I can shave off a few seconds (maybe 2 or 3).Need to gain some more speed.
 
Still got the bleeding headache!
Not being helped by the weather (air-pressure's changing all the time so my sinuses are playing up too:( :ouch: )

Done the qualifying run once only!

Not going to even pretend it is a 'best-effort', but it's not bad. I hope!

Darn, that's exactly what I was gonna do :) So instead I'll say I didn't have time to race because Santa beat the crap outta me...she's friggin vicious!!!!

I've done three runs have a fast lap of 1'15.687. Pretty happy with my results.

Time submitted. I'm off to the mountains of Eastern Switzerland tomorrow for Xmas so I won't get another chance at this. I'm still waiting for my wheel to be delivered (frikkin' holiday season ;) ) so I'm not expecting much this week. I'm back next week as I will have to work between Xmas and New Year's :( so I should be able to put in a solid race time, if all works out.

Your penalties and AI setting suck this week EV4L. Truly a twisted mind. This track blows too...this is going to be a 1 try for me in the race. Time sent.

Due to a complete and total brain-fart yesterday, I am re-running this qualifying!
(I was running with tyre wear on strong:dunce: )

But I am finding your times of 1'15 & 16's really difficult to even come close to.

The fastest lap I have seen on mediums is a high 1'17! So far that is!

Now I am not saying that anyone has used the wrong tyres here, but I have the AI on SOFTS, and me on MEDIUMS! That's right isn't it?

I know I am under-par at the moment, and SSR5 isn't one of my best tracks, and I still have a air-restricter pen.
But being nearly a second & 1/2 a lap behind Drew, is a little out of whack from the norm.

What fastest laps are you other guys getting?
 
Well Neil, SSR5 is one of my top 3 tracks, I've driven it more then most any other. I have my AI's at +10 with RS/RS and I'm running RM/RM's. The last time I raced this track in the DTM, LPM or JGTC I found two areas that made lots of difference in my times, most importantly the chicane and tight right sweeper before the straight. Early braking and trail braking found several tenths.
Anyway Neil, you're driving with a disability at the moment, I know when I'm feeling crappy I'll drive 1-2 seconds a lap slower then normal, sometimes when I'm feeling fine I 'm just not ON.
I had a few good runs yesterday, I was in "The Groove" just submitted my times.
 
well, shaved off some 16 seconds, and am still not happy yet :(
back to the damn cockpit ! ... determined to shave a few more seconds off
 
Well! I've not been on GTP in quite some time, and haven't touched GT in equally as long... Been at this for just over two hours this morning, and well, this last session was my best so far, by far... But then I ran into one of those two walls that stick out into the track!!! And only because I was trying to squeak out that extra thousandth as usual! I COULD'VE just given it a little more steering and easily missed it without shaving basically any time, but nooo.

It was still 30 seconds faster than my first attempt last week! With the 10 second penalty. I'll give it one more go, but probably submit that one as it was very nice otherwise.
 
Well, I'm glad I came back to it. Very glad. But, I'm also very UNglad that there are those stupid walls that stick out. Nicked one on the lap following a fluke 1'15.989, and it cost me a full 9 seconds! It was the one right before the straight... :( But, this race was still 2 seconds faster than my previous best, and I'm out of time... So it's getting submitted.

Neil, you have to adopt MY driving strategy for this track... :sly: Aggressive with the car, very hard on the tires, using the whole track, using those curbs, getting millimeters from those walls... What a rush. My car's MR layout worked very well with my style of driving on this track.

Now, what'll happen when I lose weight?

Damn, 10th and 2 sec. slower on fastest lap. I really thought I was fast this time. It was a flawless run.

I am very disappointed about the Pitwork's performance this time.I am sure if Zeratul had enough time he could be up for second in qualifying.
And sorry to say this eats: payback time,that's okay,but I have a "dark horse" between the racers who has 90% chance to win the race this time...
I see the podium before my eyes: RX7 - Woodone - Pitwork...:)
