RULES : Standard online racing rules for clean racing applied when ever possible.

Race :

Minimum of 2 wheels on track
Rumble strips are part of the track
No intentional AI contact
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No cheating of any kind

Since this is a semi-enduro format (between 40-45 mins) we can’t really ask for 100% error free races. But you must still follow the same basic rules layed down for qualifications and use them when ever possible. Since you are racing with other AI cars little incident may occur and result in an excursion off the track, those are normal racing battles. Passing another car should always be done with caution and fair play just like in real life.

AIR RESTRICTOR

The winning driver will have a -1% hp air restrictor penalty in place for the next round. This penalty will be in effect for the next 3 races and then dropped after that determined period of time. Exp : A driver winning R3 will get -1% hp for rounds 4-5-6 and on R7 he'll see his power come back to normal. A driver winning again in that 3 races penalty period will gain another -1% hp but the 3 races period won't be resetted like in the past to 3. The longest a penalty (-1%) will hit will be 3 races.

I'll try to mess around with the PS2 this week, trying to fix those nasty errors. It happens all the time: once in a while, one of the tracks is "banned", and I can no longer race it. Current ones are Motegi and Fuji... Though, with no qually submitted, I can rest assured that the last place is mine, should I be able to finish a run.

Hello,hello,hello!

Is there anyone out there?

Can anybody hear me?

Is anyone home?

....................................

Quiet in here ain't....(oops, dodge that tumble-weed)..it?

Neil

Only if you can:

a) quote the song, artist, albumn, film title.
b) prove you are old enough, and wise enough to not only know the music, but understand the meaning of the work.
and most importantly.....
c)tell me who the most beautiful woman in the world is?

:D

"It is, inevitable!"

"only if you put the rubbish out, mr!"
(big clue!)
Neil

a) Comfortably numb, Pink Floyd, The Wall, The Wall
b) I've been kicking around for more than 32 years and I'm wise enough to know I'll never fully understand the meaning
c) my wife :-)

I had a run at this last night. As always, Motegi's surfacing is fairly forgiving to the tires...just not QUITE enough to allow for the strategy I've chosen. I managed an average run with a fast lap in the mid 1'43s. No luck with the AI from a drafting perspective, I think I only encountered 2 cars on track once I took the lead, and never at very opportune locations.

@CRXnut: [OT] I just noticed you live in my old home town :) I grew up in West Van. I still have a half-sister living in North Van someplace. Whereabouts are you, if you don't mind me asking?

Good answers Buddy!

Though the answer to c, should really be the delectable Angelina (but only if the wife isn't around of course:sly: )

Neil

I'm with ya 100% on the Angelina part, with or without my wife around!!

Ok, wife's not around. Angelina's hot :-)

Zeratul - I'm in New Westminster. I grew up in Eastern Europe, then lived in Florida and settled down here. Switzerland could be one of the few places that are as good for living as Vancouver :-)

Got a day off today so I'll be playing bumpercars with AI around Motegi.

Edit: Can't figure out pit strategy. I found three different ones and all of them would be perfect for 22 lap race :-)

Hey CRX nut I'm living in Florida now and for the last 30 years but my wife and I want to eventually move to BC, we were there two years ago and fell in love with it. Switzerland is too expensive, at least it was last time we were there.

Vancouver is expensive too, rest of BC is ok. I love it here.

Just seen 1'41.8 :-) Too bad I can't do it 23 times in the row. Most of my laps are in 1'43s

Edit: Good news: just ran the race again and improved my total time. Bad news: Total time was only 0.060 faster :-)

I lived out on the Squamish highway just a little past Horseshoe Bay...kinda the other side of town if memory serves :)

Nothing's changed...

Got a chance to get on the computer :)

Nice to see you "younguns" know about Floyd :sly: ... got to see them doing the "Darkside of the Moon" tour when the album came out. Caught them twice more over the years, last one was the Wall concert in L.A.

I've only been able to run the race a few times. All of them being a 2 stopper on RM's. The trick was getting the tyres to last at the lap times I wanted, mid to low 43's. Ended up shaving about 15 seconds of my initial run :dopey: now it's down to trying to get the last 6 or 7 seconds off, see if I can get through "the barrier" of time that I think the podium is going to require.

Glad to see the Neil is back to being "normal ?"
Andy, sorry to hear about your back :( :ouch: Hope it's getting better 👍

This working Graveyard is messing with me...sigh

Don't feel bad man with my additional weight and a HP restrictor 1'43's are out of the question. I have a feeling I'm gonna bring up the rear.

Nuh uh, I'm bringing up the rear! :p

I should've known a)!

But otherwise, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. :p

I know Angelina's pretty good looking, and everyone loves her, but I don't. She's good, sure, but maybe a little too stereotypical perfect for me. Haha.

I think I might try this once before I fall asleep. Or maybe not. Tomorrow I'll get some time in for sure though.

Today I realized I forgot to save my good two stopper race so I ran the race again and shaved another 15 seconds :-)
No 1'43s but very consistent laps, managed to lap some AI !!!
Time submitted.

Time sent to the Boss.

Wasn't able to get another session done :( and know that I left about another 10 seconds out there...sigh, so I had to go with what I ran earlier this week.

2 stopper on RM/RM - pretty much in the as stated earlier. Know I'm not in the fast lap chase. My partner just makes me shake my head in wonder

I really liked this track for some reason. It felt like there were different parts of different tracks all put together. Rythum was a key, that and my getting a bit more use to the car. I figure by the time we end the season I may have a feel for this beast.... LOL

Where are we next week ? Anyone know ?

I've done half a race and still haven't even seen a 1'44. Anyway, I'll do it one more race and submit. And my tires are RED at the end of my 8 lap sessions.

I think next week is at the 'Ring

Dammit. That one week I absolutely can't afford to miss, and I have to. If I could trade that no-good Slimline PS2 for an old boxy one, I'd do it in 5 seconds...

Time Submitted. 1 run only, best lap 1:43.1xx. 3 stopper. 2 penalties. :yuck: I think I gotta stop testing for my other series(s) for a while, Never thought i'd get GT4 burnout. I had to FORCE myself to do Motegi this week...but maybe it was because of the qualifying experience that I got away from this week.

I will say though, that with the equal tires, the race was pretty fun. Ended up winning by roughly 10sec only, very close for most of the races I've been in. 👍 to EV4L. Sorry for the blasting last week.

C

Time in.

I was away this weekend so I lost a bit of racing time, but hopefully a solid run. Fast lap in the 1'42s. Good luck all 👍

Times In. I only got one race in and it was riddled with mistakes. Methinks I shall lose some weight this week. Sorry Neil, I'll put more time in next race since my '34 is out of commision while I wait for some ignition parts and wait for my fuel tank to be cleaned. Sorta glad, I need a break from that car, it's been eating up all my spare time and money. I'll drive the Chevelle for the next few weekends, it never gives me a lick of problems.

Times in also!

Andy, don't sweat it buddy. Season's not even half way through yet.

Only managed to do this once (completely, that is) and managed a 1'44.5 fastest lap which should have been a 1'43 but was ruined by the AI getting in the way in the final chicane.:ouch:

Neil

Well, after that first stint I was starting to get the hang of being a bit smoother, and for my submission I wasn't having too much trouble getting 8 decent laps in in a row. Sadly, I only saw 1'44 laps for maybe 4 or 5 laps the WHOLE race. Fastest lap is enough to nick by Neil though! :p

I probably left around 10 seconds in there in that two stop strategy, but towards the last few laps of the race I came to the relatively obvious conclusion(for me anyway) that I SHOULD have tried doing a 3 stopper!!! This track's time spent in the pits is very low, and there's not too much time lost, in my mind. Oh well, two stopper it was/is, and I'm submitting now. Good luck in the results guys!

I have tried a 3 stopper but it was slower for me. I'm not very good at taking advantage of grippy tires and my lap times were only about 1 second faster than on RMs.

BTW - I would like to see some replays. Watching faster drivers lines can help me to get better.

I think next week is at the Ring

I can't find the thread with the track lineup, there is one isn't there? If it's the Ring I wanna get started, but I'd still like to find the schedule.
