RULES : Standard online racing rules for clean racing applied when ever possible.

Race :

Minimum of 2 wheels on track
Rumble strips are part of the track
No intentional AI contact
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No cheating of any kind

Since this is a semi-enduro format (between 40-45 mins) we can’t really ask for 100% error free races. But you must still follow the same basic rules layed down for qualifications and use them when ever possible. Since you are racing with other AI cars little incident may occur and result in an excursion off the track, those are normal racing battles. Passing another car should always be done with caution and fair play just like in real life.

AIR RESTRICTOR

The winning driver will have a -1% hp air restrictor penalty in place for the next round. This penalty will be in effect for the next 3 races and then dropped after that determined period of time. Exp : A driver winning R3 will get -1% hp for rounds 4-5-6 and on R7 he'll see his power come back to normal. A driver winning again in that 3 races penalty period will gain another -1% hp but the 3 races period won't be resetted like in the past to 3. The longest a penalty (-1%) will hit will be 3 races.

wow that was fun.:)
I could have entered the last lap in wds. No rear tyres or fuel.
I went for a 3 stop strategy.(I dont know what were allowed to discuss)
I dont think Ill give it another go the AI dont even try.

Yes Sam, we can discuss pit strategy and even tyre choices.

Fastest lap-time is the only time we can talk about.

I haven't even ran this yet, and prob won't do today. Got tea to make, have a shower, then out to play pool with the team.
The Guiness will flow, and the reflexes will die, so no use trying.

Neil

Alright. If I don't get a time in this week, feel free to e-slap my e-face. Unless DREs return. I'm really annoyed by this - it worked the whole day, and now it just won't. Missed the qualifier because of this...
Not that it matters, I'll hold a special celebration if I don't come in last.

DREs seem to be the case. Hotlaps are OK again, but arcade races seem to still DRE. 👎:grumpy:
Guess I'll have to start looking for a good-condition used disk.

Who feels stupid right now?

I, over the weekend cleared some of my 'bookmarks', and a couple of them were specifically for the DRE's.
Including the method for re-calibrating the laser in the non-slimline model.

Sorry!

But they are somewhere on the 'Planet'!

Neil

Don't know if it's a typo, or not!

I haven't done any tyre testing as yet, but if J.R. thinks he can stretch them that far..........I'll have to see about it also! :sly:

Nah!
7 laps out of softs and 9 out of mediums. Can't see even J.R. in the Ford getting 17 laps out of mediums.

Mind you, I have been known to be wrong. Once in a while!

On a side note!
If any of you haven't seen the latest 'Bond' movie, 'Casino Royale', I have to say it is the very best one I have EVER seen!
No magic watches that shoots a laser out of the winder, that coincidentally, is the one thing that saves his bacon when he gets caught by the bad-guy. No rappelling gear hidden in a belt-buckle, to help him get into/out of the bad-guy's secret volcano lair. No invisible Aston.

Fantastic opening sequence, great fight scenes, nice plot with a really good twist in the tail.
And Danial Craig is also the best Bond since Sean Connery, if not better. Because he's raw, completely dispassionate, and not 'smarmy' like Roger Moore or Tim Dalton.

Highly recommend it! Without reservation!

Neil

ok, ok... lol
just wanted to kick over a beehive :)
I'm getting at least 11 laps per mediums and have a thought about the RS's :)
So at the most on RM's is a 2 stopper, and that would make the RS's a 3
best lap with the RM's is in the 1:09's without the fuel being burned off and carrying the extra weight :(... should be able to hit the :07's with the RS's if I go with a 3 stopper :)

What sort of pace are you running on mediums to get 11 laps J.R.?

I'm getting 9 at around the 1'08-1'09.5 mark.

You must be dropping a lot of speed in the corners, especially in the twisties and the final one to get that extra 2 laps.

Neil

I think his lap times are just under the 1'10's,but I am sure HE CAN DO IT.:)
I will use a different pace, just keep on pushing as hard as possible, thinking about a 4 stopper, but to be honest to you guys,I never fell in love with Deep Forest. Those bumpy tracks aren't my favourites. So I am waiting for Mid-Field...:dopey:

Neil,I like the Bond movies very much.I have all of them, except this last one, right now I am thinking on buying the brand new series in a VERY BIG box with new hungarian 5.1 sound just for the collectors.:odd:
I was afraid about this Craig guy because I can't imagine him like JB.I like his style because one of my favourite movie is called "Layer cake"...ah,that's what I call MOVIE. He is very good.

Neil, gotta agree with you on the Bond topic. Very good movie, and GTXDriver, don't sweat it, I was worried about this guy as Bond too but he pulls it off very well IMO.

Only 2 complaints about the movie: the opening scene is possibly the best in the film, and I won't mention my second complaint so as not to spoil it for others, but as a car fanatic, if you've seen the movie you should be able to guess :sly:

Wow, how do you do it.
I can just about get 10 laps out of RH's.
Is it my driving or the car?

I nearly had tears in my eyes!

Such a shame.

Neil

sorry about the delay, graveyard is kicking my butt :( only three weeks left ... yeah :dopey:

Sami - Neil is the tyre king  he's able to make the rubber last well beyond any of us. Driving with tyre wear is something of a learned art. I chased his fuzzy butt all last season, trying to find how he does what he does.
( I know his butt is fuzzy because he mailed me a picture of what I thought was an apes butt !) :sly: this was after posting an increadible amount of laps on a set of tyres  It's a "feel/ hear" type of thing to get the rubber to last. The trick is not trying to run a qual. lap, but to run a consitant lap that doesn't eat the tryes up too hard.... your running RH's isn't a good sign :(

As for the times I'm getting, my partner has it right. I'm just into the 1: 09's, in the first stint. I'm really beginning to think that the way to go for me is a three stopper on RS's.... well, I've got the next couple of nights off, that means what ? 6 hrs each of trying to find a time for a track that I'm not that good at :(

And yes mate, I'm dumping speed going into the corners and pushing my way out. Upped the tunning on the tranny to adjust for the push/ right front wheel that takes a beating on this track. That 180 left hander and the last corner are an ass kicker on the rubber.

Wow, how do you do it.
I can just about get 10 laps out of RH's.
Is it my driving or the car?

I think it is your driving style...:ouch:
Ask Neil (Ballstothewall) about tyre conservation. My opinion is that if you drop a little speed at some corners - I think about the tyre eater twisty section including the bumpy downhill section from T1 to T2 -,you can use the tires for longer stints.

Hi J.R.!
Nice to "see" you.
Sorry for being late from Qualifying, but as I see it doesn't really matter.I hadn't got the chance to score points with that result.
I'll be in the race I promise. This qualy was the first time (and I hope the last) from the beginning of the Season 2, when I can't find the possibility to submit my result.

 Hey,the first time I've seen this thread,there was 33 laps...as I remember.
Am I going slightly mad?:indiff:
HELP!!!HOW DO YOU REMEMBER?!:nervous:

I was hoping for 33 laps. One 9 lap stint was gonna be bad enough :-)

Think that's what you remember seeing Lasz ^^^.

Neil,

Oh and thanks for the plaudits guys!

There are 3 left-handed tyre-eater corners on this track.
The double left in the dip onto the back straight (which should be taken as a single, double-apex corner. Very reminicant of the Spoon curve @ Suzuka but in reverse.), the semi-fast left at the top of the hill, and the final corner.
The first corner, if taken right, isn't really hard on the tyres. If you brake straight, then hit the apex right, there's virtually no squeal.

Neil

Sorry that I haven't been involved in the discussion guys... I'm not around nearly as much as I used to be, and I'm sick this week! It sucks. I won't be going into work tomorrow most likely, we'll see. Hopefully I can find the time to put in a decent race.

About Bond, I absolutely loved it! A bit long in the tooth near the end, but good none the less! Shame that the beautiful Aston was only shown for a couple seconds here and there. I definitely wouldn't have minded seen more of it being driven nice and hard! Awesome car. :)

Well, I'm out of town again this weekend so I had to cram my runs into one sitting last night. My best run included a penalty (thanks again Mr. Zonda driver) and a couple of minor mistakes, so about 20 seconds left out on track :(

I will say that I am very happy with my car choice this season. She understeers a little bit (typical of the Z), but has awesome stability particularly under heavy braking, which suits my driving style well.

Time submitted. Good luck all 👍

Don't have much time this week, I will most likely just run the race couple of times right before the deadline.

Well, after taking a stab at it today, it seems that I'm going to end up just about where I qual'd.... sigh After a couple of good weeks, I'm here lost at the bottom of the pile yet again. Oh well, that's racing ! A total non-threat here this week. Go get'em Eat's !

I have never done well at this track... and Tokyo ? ... we'll just have to see on that one.

Arrrrgh, this one is kicking my ass. Managed to make the tires last without losing speed but can't get a race done without penalties.

Edit: Ok, I think I'm done. Ran fairly consistent three stopper, lost 5 seconds in traffic and possibly another 5 messing up the final corner. If I have time I might give it another shot but I'm pretty happy with the result (improved by 20 seconds).

:grumpy: well, time sent
did better than I thought, but am still not happy. Figure I'm in mid-pack..shrug. Got the times down a bit, did a 3 stopper as I gave up on the two stops.

off to practice a bit for tokyo in an attempt to make up for this the poor showing this week:ouch:

I really don't like Tokyo but I hope the RX7's neutral handling will give me some advantage (actually it's the only reason I have some top 5 finishes :-)
