RULES : Standard online racing rules for clean racing applied when ever possible.

Race :

Minimum of 2 wheels on track
Rumble strips are part of the track
No intentional AI contact
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No cheating of any kind


Since you are racing with other AI cars little incident may occur and result in an excursion off the track, those are normal racing battles. Passing another car should always be done with caution and fair play just like in real life.

Tires : Racing Soft (really important, the AI must start on RS tires)

Discussion about FASTEST LAPS are tolerated, but that's the only value allowed to be discussed.
 
Ran this qualifier a few times last night, and really enjoyed it. Fast lap was a 1'06.1xx (seen a 1'05.8xx in a time trial) but consistency was lacking from my runs, so there is still plenty of time to find. I will definitely put more time into this qualifier to try and make up for last weeks poor effort.
 
Wow, I barely know this track (Kyle is my witness :-) but I'm starting to see some low 1'06s in time trial

I took a few more seconds off my run, but I'm still not happy with my consistency. Fast lap down to a 1'05.922 now, but I had a few laps that were over 1'06.5 which really hurt my time. I'll have one more session on this and then I'll be done.
 
Well, we're only supposed to chat about our fastest lap times...

Anywho, haven't had a go yet, and will be leaving tomorrow morning for the weekend, but I'll get in a quali run before I leave for sure! Just don't plan on a top 5. No time for that. In this car.
 
well, I'm nowhere fast enough, yet again. I am going to be able to spend more time on this :) .... just don't see myself as a threat this week after reading the post so far. Only just now learning to get into the :06's consistantly.... shaking my head over the :05's ... think my best is a 06.4 ? ... but doing that 10x ? not just yet that's for sure !
 
I got the banker race done with fastest lap in very high 1'05s.
Still looking for improvement, I had a 1'05.4xx once but messed up shortly after that :-)

I believe most time can be lost in the double right before the first tunnel and also in the turn 1.

Edit: Ok, I'm done. Managed to slightly improve my fastest lap and the total time by another 3 seconds. Leaving for the weekend. Time submitted.

Yeah, I'm still trying to work out those corners. I can never be consistent around them, most of the time I won't push the car hard enough when going around those corners but when I do it's always too much.
 
Argh... This is a toughie. I can get first before the AI even before T1, but I can't keep 10 laps below 1'07...

Got an easy field, so I'll leave the PS2 on with this field until I do a good run.

EDIT: Yahoo! I think I'm ready to submit. Lost about 10 seconds due to a spin on lap 8, which made me do another "first lap". However, I did get a fastest lap of 1'05.885, which I think is the best I could hope for.

Almost perfect run, if I may be so bold.
Apart from L1 all laps within 0.281 of the average lap-time(excluding the fastest lap), and only 0.368 from the average (including the fastest lap).

The whole race WRS clean, apart from a slight touch from the Nissan Z in turn 3. No corners cut into the first tunnel, no going wide inside the second tunnel, but using the rumble strip with the left wheels in both cases.

Fastest lap? Faster than previously stated! :sly:

Though, you have me by 0.053 seconds per lap in the total time stakes.
Even if your Hp is at 495, you beat my time with the same settings! My hat is off to you for beating what I thought was a near perfect 10 lap race.

Yep, I ran at 495 HP instead of 490 so my previously posted hotlap is no good. Reran and was only 1/2 second slower in 10 laps with 5 HP less. May rerun again as I had one bad lap of 1'07.7xx, hit the dirt coming out of turn 1.
 
well, I was running this one again, ok.... so maybe more than a few. Trying to learn a line around the track that was both consitant and within range of you guys.

Thinking of how Neil stated he got into the lead before T1, can't tell you how long that took me to do ! I still figure the pole to be where I can't reach, but I am learning to get around 👍

Thoughts of how, here I am, 7 races in and still learning about the car... what it likes and what it does when I do this.... driving styles vs. chassis/character of the car .... maybe that was the magic I had in the Ford GT ? ... it and I just went well, made it an easier dance.

Knowing that the Championship points race isn't over yet. That Andy has to finish the season with a HP and Weight ... that Neil has dropped his.... Hmmm...

Because of this series and fellow racers, I've become a better shoe... Thanks !
Win or not :) it's all good 👍

I'm lucky enough to spend a few more hours per week this closing period of the season :) I may never get a pole, or even my first win in this series.... but I'm for damn sure going to have fun trying !

Yet more proof that this track is 'handling' track and not a 'horsepower' one!

Definately gonna re-run this later on today, gotta cook the Sunday meal, and watch the Ray Mears marathon on TV. Just love that guy!

He reminds me of my survival instructor from my days in the forces!

Time submitted. I managed to squeeze 98% consistent performance out of my car this week. Considering the air restrictor, I'm feeling pretty positive. Gotta make the most out of qualy if I want to defend my position on the leaderboard.

It pains me to burst your bubble (well, not really... :sly: ), but I managed a 1'05.5xx :D

Midfield used to be my test track in GT mode, since GT3. I haven't run here in a while (haven't been playing GT Mode much) but it all comes back after a couple of laps.

Yes,Zeratul,I think your car has the potential to win the qualifying here,and mainly the RX's are the most dangerous opponents.
To be honest to you guys (the RX-7 stuff and Zeratul) I tried the race in your cars too...

I managed these hot laps:
Pitwork Nissan: 1'05.186 :bowdown:
RX-7: 1'04.986 :eek:

So I am a little bit excited about the results...:nervous:
