JGTC S4 Round 8 Race + Results

Time in. I didn't have a lot of time due to a pretty busy weekend, so I'm not expecting much this week :(

I have a couple of pics from the Geneva Motor Show I think you folks may be interested in, will post them tomorrow.

Good luck all 👍

Time submitted. I lost about 10 seconds because of AI. With my 3 stopper I often pitted just after lapping them all so I had to pass them about 4 times.
Other than that I'm pretty happy with my run, hope to get into top 5.

Time sent.
Having said that, the time I sent wasn't the fastest that I was doing. Note the operative word, doing. Into lap 30 and 35 on two different races, when the AI smacks me during a pass, forcing a pit :ouch: The two were about 8 seconds faster up to that point.

Having qual'd 10 seconds behind pole, you would figure that I'd be about 35 seconds off from first ? :nervous:

Pulled a 2 stopper on RM's, and praying for any points that I might find. Chasing Drewpy Balls, why don't I like the sound of that ? LOL

For me, the AI weren't a problem in the race. The only pisser was that I kept passing the faster cars on the inside of the final bend, so I was missing out on the draft down the straight that would get me a faster lap.

To be honest, even the dreaded Panoz Esperarse wasn't a problem this week. Yes, he was faster as usual down the straight, but he braked early and the inside line into the first corner isn't as problematic a line as on some of the other tracks.

Don't think that my time is gonna be that fast, but if I am up there in the points (somewhere around 3rd-5th) we'll be happy.

Neil

Sorry not a contender this week, top guys wayyyyyyyy too fast for me on this one. :guilty:

a PODIUM!!! Oh My !^@!. I would like to thank the academy...no wait, wrong speech.

Seriously though, I can't believe it. I must bow to GTXDriver and mullen of course, WOW, that's fast. I should have run the race more than once. darnit!

Anyways, wow, looks like my weight gets put back on. :(

Awesome racing there at the top guys... I just wish I didn't have that incident with the AI at the last minute, would've bumped me up in the leaderboard 3-5 spots! :grumpy:

Congrats to all podium finishers. Nice to see someone other than the usual suspects up there :-)

Yes and the goal of this JGTC series is to do just that. I want to give everyone a chance, even the slower drivers, so they can at one point in the season challenge and pull out good results. I really don't like to see dominations left and right, fact I would never host a series with no performance penalty what so ever because things would only rely on pure skills and that's it. It's just not fun for the others always getting creamed, might be damm fun for the winners race after race but I find it big time selfish.

Good balanced out car field + penalty system in place will always be the key to success. To keep people around you have to even out the field by using X and Y methods. The key word in online racing is "MOTIVATION", a player looses that and he'll quit on your arse 9 times out of 10.

The only reason I was up there was because of my huge weight advantage.

Congratulations to GTXDriver who was still able to beat me! And congratulations to everyone that submitted!

Looking forward to the next round.

Oh,another win for the Simpson guys.
I think Andy from the Comedy Racers will kill me for sure.
Sorry about taking the win from mullen. You were really fast, buddy.👍 With my strategy you were a few light years distance ahead of me.
I started on RM's and used them for a 11 and 10 lap long stints, then changed to RS's for 2x7 laps. And pushed really hard.:)

That strategy would've suited me MUCH better... Why didn't you tell me to do that?!?! Haha, just kidding. Seriously, though, that would've been nice. I just didn't give it too much thought... :indiff: I got too caught up in trying to be like other people who actually take care of their tires. I even made some SLIGHT adjustments to try and make them a little longer, but I just can't do the partial braking thing very easliy, at all. At least not when I'm going from 130+mph to 50...

Heh, I wish I had put more thought in to my strategy. With my NSX on such a light weight I could push 100% and still manage 11 laps out of RM's.

I might try out your strategy before i get stuck into round 9, not that it really matters now though.

O.K.,do it,please.👍
I am curious, what will be your result.I think it will improve about 10-15 seconds at least.Maybe not at first try, because my first attempt with this strategy was 38'51.xxx,I don't remember exactly.I was thinking about pitting in lap 10 but I'd rather left on the track because of the traffic.I didn't want to fight against them,so it was a logical and necessary decision to go one more lap on dark orange tyres.
There was a lucky moment too. When I left the first tunnel, one of the Ford GT's spun out and came back to the track just in front of me.:scared: Maybe I'll take a fotograph from this moment.
Please send your result to this thread.I am sure that you will be faster than me.:)

Damn! Lack of time and lots of weight equals a poor performace :irked: My only consolation is that my championship contender didn't have a great round either...

Congrats to the podium finishers

Wow, fantastic times there guys.👍
Congrat's!

Knew I should have pushed a little harder, and just tried for that last minute run!

Nevermind, 2 rounds to go, and 9 points in the championship.

Neil

Yes, two more rounds to try to catch you in overall standings :-)

O.K.,do it,please.👍
Suprisingly, I'm giving it a try as well. Just did my first 10 laps and pitted, I'll do 11 laps the next stint after I get back from work... :)

How will you do that?Giving the PS2 an 8-hour long Pause?

Why not ? I keep my PS2 on all the time. It took me a week to finish 24hr race.

Are you kidding me?All the time? And you haven't got any problem like overheating or something? That's crazy.
You do the 24 hours race in A-spec?
I feel myself freak, because I usually use B-spec in the endurance races about 50% or more.:guilty:

You are totally insane!!!:)
Now I KNOW that I am a freak...

Are you kidding me?All the time? And you haven't got any problem like overheating or something? That's crazy.
Yeah, my slimline's rarely off... I make sure it has lots of breathing room though, and it's on a hardwood floor, not carpet. Nothing on top of it or too close to it blocking airflow. It works fine, until I try to use the maxdrive. It usually will read the maxdrive on the first try if I have it off for an hour or more before I try it. I usually have it on all the time anyway.

And, taking a break then coming back to it later to start immediately on RS/RS tires was not a good idea... Went off the track on the first turn the first two laps, then while experimenting how fast I can go through the switchback right before T1, I went too fast an went wide, then shot directly accross to the other side of the track and died. And then into the laps for a penalty, EXACTLY what happened in my submitted race... So I guess this time won't be the fastest time of the Round, but it will be comparable to my submitted time to see the difference between the two strategies. Oh well. Still have 10 more laps to do, I'll report back. 👍

Unless I get another penalty on my pitting lap!... :grumpy: Good thing I don't have a deadline!

Pff. And another... :p Ok, I'm done with that! It definitely would've been a faster strategy. Should've realized it earlier... :) Well done GTX!

Fastest lap would've most likely been a 1'03.9xx too.

oops, I just realized I submitted wrong pit info.
I actually did 3 pit stops
Started RM/RS - had to drive slow to save tires
Lap 10 - RM/RS - same thing
Lap 20 - RM/RS - pedal to the metal ran some mid 1'05s
Lap 29 - RS/RS - bad luck dealing with traffic but managed 1'04.6

Pff. And another... :p Ok, I'm done with that! It definitely would've been a faster strategy. Should've realized it earlier... :) Well done GTX!

Thank you very much,Kyle!
I hope mullen will do this race without any failure and penalty and we all can see his result with eyes wide open...:)
I am very curious about it.
