JGTC S4 Round 9 Race + Results

Time submitted. I think I left about 6 seconds out on track, but it's not easy to keep it together for 21 laps here (as I think everyone will agree :) ).

Good luck all 👍

Geez ... take a few days and let the others in the house take over the computer and I come to back to this ? !! Neil and Laszlo...both ? The nerve ! Best to both of you 👍

Time sent..... drove this thing so many times :grumpy:
Ran a 2 stopper on RM's with a fast lap in the low 1:54's

I've discovered that I just don't qualify well :irked: Seems that my qual runs a nothing more than finding my race pace. I blame Neil --- pointing finger --- yes you mate ! Chasing your fuzzy butt has made me abhor the thought of a squeeling tyre.

I ended up shaving about 30 seconds off my inital run. It only took umpteen attempts  but the points are needed as we only have one race left and the Championship is still up for grabs.

Good luck everyone

Time sent!
Last hour racing for me again, RL sucks when it gets in the way of racing!

Managed to do a consistant race, with a fastest lap of 1'52.421 on softs, which I used for the last 6 laps.
Mediums for the rest of the race with 7 & 8 lap stints.

No pens, spins or off's, thank god!

Neil

Damnit Neil! I let you snag a faster lap than me... I wish I was able to put SOMETHING together this morning. :grumpy:

We'll see what the results say, someone'll probably snag first, maybe even second from me. *sigh* Looks like I might get to keep my HP though for next round, which'll be nice.

Nice lap Neil, you are our only hope my friend !!! 1'55.116 was my fastest with all that weight and HP restrictor on RM/RS's

I'm not holding out for a win here chaps!

The pole sitter was only .3ish slower in quali with RM's on!

I was averaging 1'55's on mediums, I think, and low 1'53's on softs. I did manage to pick up a couple of good drafts in the final stint, which helped my times a lot though.

I am certain, that there will be faster guys than me.

Neil

I hate myself. Great. *sigh*

Good job Neil, your consistency is NUTS.

Congrats to the rest of the podiums as well.

I think they might be possible for him... The NSX liked this track if you were able to stay on it, and hitting the inside apexes a little aggressively made it capable to drift very nicely around turns.

Keep in mind that he did one more pit than me, which indicates he used RS tires for at least one stint(there's no way you could squeeze out LESS laps per tires than I did), and was still .4 seconds slower than my "fastest" lap with RM tires. I can be over a second faster on my RM tires than his fastest lap on RS tires...

But who knows for sure.

:nervous: Holy fuel injectors, Batman. It's gonna be a close finish to the season :nervous:

Congrats to Neil on the win, and to the other podium finishers 👍 Onward to the nail-biting finale to a great season!

Good job Neil, your consistency is NUTS.

Once I found the 'path of least resistance' round Degner and Spoon corners, and worked out the best line through the 130R carrying the most speed down to Casio Triangle. The consistant fast laps with the best balance of time/tyre-wear just happened.

I wish I could get my maxdrive disk to work, then I would post the replay. But it still refuses to load, and getting an English PAL version is near impossible.
I've tried to order one off the net, and through one of the major game retail stores, no-one has any. :grumpy:
Or they say they have them, I order it, and then they refund after two weeks because they actually haven't!:banghead:

Good job I am trusted!

Can't wait till GT5 comes out, and I get my PS3 (Not buying one till the game comes out as they are £425 just for the console over here ($850), and they don't have all the features of the Japanese/US versions. Apparently, we don't need PS2 game compatability over here, and especially don't need to play GT4)

Neil

Haha, that makes a lot more sense Sammi! :)

Neil, I should've been right around where you were, and if I could be consistently fast like you, maybe even down to 41'10.xxx. If I had more time the day when I did this race, I would've been below 41'20.xxx for sure, but I just don't have the time to race. And then Sunday, *sigh*, just couldn't focus worth a darn, so I wasted 2+ hours there. :indiff:

Kyle is correct in that regard. I did a 3-stopper and used a RS-RS setup throughout the entire race going 6-5-5-5 (laps per tire stint). I thought it was the best shot I had to do well in this race given the fact that I tend to have finished near or at the bottom of the race standings this season. :O

Looks like I did well then ;)

Honestly - I. Hate. Suzuka.

I burned the tyres like paper (2-stopper, RM/RH/RH), but did the most stupid things I could do - from taking another stint of RHs despite being only 3 laps before the finish, to loosing it on a wide variety of corners. Tyre-wear was horrorible, but at least fronts and rears were equal...
