My wheel, a DFGT, "jiggs" or shakes just after it initializes, and anytime I'm not driving. Changing the FFB doesn't effect it.

Is this normal?
Should I exchange it?

PC or PS3? I believe it is normal on the PC, it can usually be stopped by nudging it a little bit. It never happened to me back when I raced on my PS3.

Thank you for the response.

PS3, sorry, should have mentioned that.
An it does stop if I nudge it in exactly the right way. Even then it will sometimes return to shaking.

Its not really about the shaking itself, annoying as that is, I'm more worried that it's broken and it's affecting my driving, even if I can't feel it.

Is it a small, barely noticeable movement that you only feel when if you're holding the wheel? While I'm not using the DFGT, I don't remember my G25 having such issue. On the other hand with my T500RS, I can feel a very slight movement in the wheel at anytime in GT5.

It's about 1/4' (1cm?), and loud. My wife can hear it over the TV in the other room.

I don't notice a dead-space while driving (heavily car dependent!) but maybe I'm compensating?

Your wife can hear it over the TV in another room? And this is just when the wheel is sitting there? If so, you should exchange. My DFGT definitely doesn't do that.
