No different than you still dragging a thread off-topic by bringing up nonsense from the past, in order to prove something - that will be about as much benefit as knowing when the last JTCC race was.

When all the OP wants is some bl**dy advice. Instead he gets blasted for something he didn't do intentionally. Then we get someone trying to look clever by telling us the wonderful story of how their not JTCC cars, they're JGTC cars. Then we get a load of quote-for-quote cr*p, with people trying to get their last philosophical statement in.

FYI - in the time it's taken you to read this - you could have been trawling the sub-forums looking for one of my posts to try and use in a pointless manner.

How on earth can you act so negatively towards people who are seeking legitimate information? You blast people for quoting, yet you've done the EXACT same thing throughout this thread.
I'm not trying to be clever, they are completely different classes of cars. How can you find this not relevant to the conversation?

JGTC cars are NOT JTCC cars. End of story. So your 'recommendation' is moot.

This is what I always thought. I think the Calsonic Skyline was a group A car that was in the JTCC? I need to get behind the PS3 and figure this out. I think a true detailed list is in order.

It would be nice :cheers: The only way I could find what was Super GT was via trading forum and hope the references were good enough. Then after reading some of the Descriptions of each cars I find different various classes :ouch: GT300 to GT500 :ouch:. Sadly never followed the series, so I am clueless.
 
It was called the Japanese Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC) up until 2004 where it switched to Super GT. That should give some insight on what's Super GT and what's JGTC.

JGTC - 1993 to 2004
Super GT - 2004 to Present

And the Calsonic GT-R was in fact in JGTC, I don't think it was one of the JTCC cars, or at least, not that specific one. :)

Bar the GT300 cars, most of the JGTC , Group A and GT500 cars are pretty well matched against each other?

I think all of them are around the 500bhp mark before any additional tuning and weigh in around 1100kg, so could get a pretty balanced and varied grid for a series that way? The stats seem pretty similar to those of the DTM cars. Might be an idea to do a type of JDM V's DTM league or series, as you could get a lot of interest due to the number of different cars that can be raced.

I actually like threads like this, where you can find out the quirky history of the various racing series in GT5.


Edit- there are two Calsonic cars in game, ones a standard car which I think is based on the Group A R32 and then either an R34 or 35 premium car?

Well yes, you're right about the R32, but what are you talking about when it comes to the R34 and R35? Sure the R35's are Super GT. But there is no R34 unless you're talking about the TC version.

I was not sure if it was an R34 GT-R or an R35 GT-R car that has the Calsonic livery. Sorry if I'm coming across muddled, I've not been able to sleep for 4 days now so my brain is on a proper go slow now.
