To my fellow GTP members

I have created this thread to answer a question for a friend of mine who had the idea that a tounge stud would be a good idea. In short does this make a man gay if he has one (same context as the left ear pierced)

Opinions welcome
 
Metal in your tongue is never a good idea. I honestly don't know why people do that ****, or even consider it for that matter.
 
To me, I don't find a difference, left ear, right ear, tongue, lips etc. Prince Albert :sly:
Might need to check up.

And I don't think that it's good piercing you tongue. Looks sick as hell as well. And (for us kiwis, at least) makes us look like emos or punks.
 
Its not a rare occurrence here in Australia. I see guys with any ear done, lip, tongue, I dont think they are gay I just dont look at them as the smartest of people.

I'm positive your friend won't suddenly be attracted to the same sex after the piercing. :)
 
my brother has his tongue pierced and while he is very gay, his not gay in the sense your talking about.
 
Tongue piercings are usually associated with falletio.... I guess thats where the gay perception could come from when a guy does this... I, myself, really dont care if a guy wants to do that... to each his own... 👍

Ummm, actually, it was the right ear being pierced that allegedly signaled being gay ("Left is right, and right is wrong") and the left meant straight. It also quit meaning anything at all about 20 years ago, if it ever did. I've had both my ears pierced for almost 25 years, so what does that "make" me?

Having a tongue stud doesn't "make" you gay. It does, however, make you stupid, since they hurt, the swell like a bitch, they are prone to infection, and I don't know anyone with a tongue stud who doesn't also have chipped teeth to go with it.

Having sex / wanting to have sex with people of your own sex makes you gay. A tongue stud means you have a chunk of metal in your tongue. Can you please explain the potential connection?

If he's so [insert random expletive] insecure that... "your friend"... can't just do it without wondering if people will 'think he's gay' then it's probably a bad idea to get it done.

Yes, I shall lol @ this thread and the perceived necessity of this question for some time, I imagine.

edit: IMO, the real reason not to get it done is that it's stupid looking.

Thanks Duke for calling me stupid!!

I had my tongue pierced 12 years ago not for fashion and it certainly wasn't trendy then (it is now, makes me look like a sheep!!). It didn't hurt, and didn't become infected. In actual fact, it's been pierced three times now. The swelling can be a little troublesome, but nothing a diet of weetabix and soup for a few days won't cure. A good weightloss solution!
I don't have chipped teeth and nor do any of my friends who have their tongues pierced.

The reason I had it done? To cure my 19 year habit of thumbsucking. It worked, and if my daughter is still sucking hers when she's 16 then she's going to be taken to the piercing studio... :odd:
 
I had mine tongue pierced for 13 years! it was my way of rebelling, No one knew I had one, except for a few ladies and my buddy that came with me to get it. He chickened out once he saw me getting it done 👎
It did not hurt, the swelling is manageable ice will do the trick in curing that. As with anything else other piercings, tattoos, and whatever else you are prone to infection if you are not careful. I never had any problems at all.
As in "tongue piercing is gay" well I went on to marry the girl that was with me when I had it done, so that is a mute point!
I took it off 3 years ago, not because of any problems or any issues, I just thought it was time for me to move out of that stage in my life.
To the OP I would suggest letting your friend make his own decision and look pass the "stereotypes."

That's not very nice.

People ask about the gay thing all the time, it's a elementary school thing that people should have grown out of a long time ago. And anything is prone to infection if you don't care for it properly. Please don't make it seem like everyone has problems with them.
 
Most of my friends and relatives that have had tongue piercings in the past no longer have them. It was cool at first, and it gave them something to play with in their mouth, but it eventually became an inconvenience and have long since gotten rid of them. They are all straight and gay, so I guess I would call it non-gender preference specific. I would never personally do it, but if I owned a straw manufacturing company, I would hope everyone would get it done.
 
Thanks for your opinons guys, I know hes not going to go for guys now as hes a bit of a player. I was trying to make a statement to him but I realise it may have been a bad idea to throw the "gay or nay" arguement into the ring.

Personally it's not a good idea to do something like this on a whim as he has done
 
No. The tongue is directly connected to the heart by the bloodstream, so any infection can travel VERY fast. Plus over time the piercing will move forward, and eventually split your tongue, like a snake

I highly doubt that piercing your tongue will make you homosexual. Seriously.

But on topic, whatever floats your boat I guess, get the piercing if you want, i really don't care whether or not a man has his tongue pierced.

Ha, that's one of the funniest things I've ever read!!

As previously mentioned, I've been pierced for 12 years and my tongue isn't splitting...still waiting! As for infection - the mouth is one of the least likely places to get infections as saliva has certain healing properties. Of course infection is possible, but tongue piercings tend to heal relatively quickly due to the saliva.
 
Tounge studs are gay for one simple reason...they're to enhance oral pleasure on a mans penis.

If your friend is looking for a "cool" thing to have while looking straight, I would suggest a clitorus stimulating end piercing. Its basically a tongue stud that goes near the end of your tongue (closer to your front teeth) but is a hoop with a small ball on the ring. Girls will go crazy for it, and he can still tell people he's cool because he has his tongue pierced. He can also point out how gay everyone else is who has an improper tongue piercing.

I like how you think a fact is dumb stuff. Why do you think you can get different stud ends for them that all have to do with enhancing the pleasure from getting head?

There is a piercing you can get right above your penis, around the pubic hair region that is for stimulating the clitoritis while she's riding you, would you not consider a girl who gets that to be gay? The point of it is to please the same sex in which the person is, therefore leading people to assume they're gay.
