just been playing GT1

and i was surprised at how much better it looks compared to GT2, which almost gave me a heart attack when i had a go at it a few weeks ago. i mean this is a much older game than GT2 so why does it have better graphics?

Because they wanted it to. Maybe it is because they added like more cars and stuff to gt2 so they didnt have time to make them look better i dont know.

Yeah! Its good to see I'm not the only person in the world who thinks GT1 looks better than GT2. I found this out a while ago when I went back to play GT2 after playing GT3, then played GT1 after playing GT3. Also, I like the way the cars look extra big when using the 3rd person view in GT1.
