Just bought a Driving Force GT - oversteering like hell?

And that's? The traction control, I guess? Since the break lights were almost always blinking when I put it on 10, whilst driving my 599 '06.

Btw: setting it to SIMULATION, FEEDBACK on 3 and disabling the assistance (in the wheel options) really helped - it's awesome right now! I've left TCS / ABS on 5 for now (especially since the 599 '06 is such a bugger when it comes to traction :P) but it's feeling good for now.

Yep the first option is TCS, if you use the circle up/down button directly to the left of the dial that will scroll your menus and you can change TCS, ABS, 4WD TQ, and front/rear brake bias all on the fly in the race. Online you change any of these setting during the race but in A-Spec it will lock TCS to whatever you started with but you can still adjust brakes.

Are you sure that it's locked? It felt different and the break lights weren't flashing all the time when I set it to 0, hm.

Well traction control doesn't hit the brakes. It limits the throttle. If you look at your throttle meter bar when there is red at the top that means you are full pedal but TCS is limiting the power to stop spinning. I just meant the option to change your TCS settings in-race are not adjustable during those races. Online races your can adjust anything in-race

Oh, might've been the ABS then. :)
 
Just about 1 week later and i am matching my times and getting better, its so much smoother with a wheel but still struggling with spins. its good fun learning though.👍

I got my wheel last week and only until last night was when i got the hang of it. I still can't handle the really fast cars such as my x1 since it has ridiculous FFB, but anything under 700hp is fine and its a lot smoother than with a controller. As far cutting seconds off of my lap times, i not sure yet as i've only just got use to the wheel. Will start working on faster lap times later this week.

Well that comment was also about a week ago. I'm having a total different experience now, i'm not beating my times but its much smoother and its a better overall experience with a DFGT.
