You can use a Go Kart in the seasonal events! I just trashed the compact cars in the World Compact Cars Seasonal on Tokyo Bay Kart Track! It's a load of fun! Unlike the Ferrari F1 cars, you don't go up against 11 Go Karts, you can actually race cars like the VW Polo and Opel Tigra! Unfortunately you will have to add weight to your Kart until the PP is lowered to 450, but it barely makes a difference in performance. Am I the first to discover this?

It's a rocket around Tokyo Bay but don't try any track with a straight...only came 5th at Rome thanks to getting absolutely cut to bits down the straights.

I wondered abou this but wasn't able to try because I took my racing seat apart.
Will do as I finish my lastest update.

Unfortunately a few others have flagged it up already - sorry.

Still, it's a great idea and kudos for trying it. I'm giving that a go tomorrow too.

Dang. Thanks for letting me know. I didn't see anything like this posted up so I figured I was the first. No worries though.

I am absolutely going to do this.

Of course, watch PD patch it out or something when people start doing it en masse.

Sounds very interesting indeed when I get my TV back I must see!!

:p

You can also use it in the super car seasonal.

And @Mitch, if you have your tranny set right, you will probably be able to keep up with them with the ridiculous draft.

Can't quite win at Cape Ring. Comes close, but after the first lap (and you lose all of your drafting help) the best I could do was match the lap times the MG TF and Civic SiR in the first two positions were putting out.

The Tokyo Bay race was fantastic fun, though. A complete blowout, of course, but when you are in something so small it makes the '79 Civic look like a semi...

Long time since I used my kart but really enjoyed the win at Tokyo Bay. Took me a few tries as I had to learn to drive the kart again.

How do you add weight again? Totally forgot.....:ouch:
You seem to have been overlooked...

Once you've selected the kart, go into Settings and under Body/Chassis you can add weight there and shift its placement about too.

Another option worth considering is adjusting the Transmission final gear ratio as far left as you can go - it increases the top-speed to...97mph. It meant I won the Tokyo race by 7.5xx seconds, in the lead by the end of lap 4!

Now let's see if that works elsewhere...:)

Thanks for the tip. This is great fun zipping in and out of traffic. Tried Rome and only got fifth. Haven't tried the others yet.

Kudos for that, I only came 7th, stuffed the kart into the wall once tough. But as I said in the "best car"-thread, the Tokyo Bay race is great.

Actually managed a third place at Rome - a lot of fortuitous drafting (and not clouting the wall :sly:) plus some mucking about with the gear ratio option - do leave plenty for the drafting to bring you up to around 100mph.

On Grand Valley E though, could only get fourth place so far. I think it depends on the competition loadout.

It is a lot more fun than I thought possible 👍

I won in that kart yesterday in Tokyo bay. 1st by 4th lap. For Rome I got 5th. Yet to try for the rest but yes its fun. Btw someone else tried it at least 2 days ago. Check out the other threads.

No someone posted a week ago....

Got third place on all tracks now bar Tokyo R246 and the kart track...

Not sure if I can get much higher though.

I honestly think that if you pulled the right AI rotation, you could win the Cape Ring race.
Yup, a lot of it is down to that and getting vehicles to draft on the straight.

Nice!! Haven't bothered with the less twisty tracks yet, but I'll give it a go. I wasn't sure how I should arrange that gear ratio on a kart, meaning if I would risk losing acceleration in an already heavily "ballasted" car.
