One word.... Amazing! You can pretty much say the CM developers frequent their forums and listen to us gamers because they hit the nail on the head with this one! This was definitely NOT just a driver and car update of the old game. I'm still at the airport so I'm currently on my phone. I plan on writing some more when I get to a proper computer. I don't have any pictures to share either as they took our cameras and phones away from us before the event started.
First off I'd say the main thing CM worked on for 2011 was the handling. This was the biggest feature they pushed at the event and what they were most proud of. He came right out saying it's no more uncontrollable overstear or just tapping the brake to stop it either. He also said as an F1 game they want to make it as realistic as possible. They were proud of the new handling and had all the right to be too. We got quite a bit of time on the game and you could easily notice the great improvement.
The graphics have been greatly enhanced as well. The colors are more vibrant and clear. We only got to experience 2 tracks, Melbourne and Istanbul. Both of these had great frame rate and I never noticed a single drop. This was quite impressive as the final build is not even done yet.
A.I. has been completely reworked and improved now too. Much more difficult on the harder levels. Oh and you can now put some a.i. in your multiplayer races to spice it up some more; online or off. I thought that was really cool.
Split screen, DRS, Kers all there of course.
I asked the developer straight on about a safety car. Unfortunately I didn't get a straight answer. Basically he said they are working on it but it will only be in there if they can get it to work perfectly with the a.i. I'm pretty sure it'll be in there as some of the other guys at CM told me it was. They weren't developers though. I'm thinking also they may want to wait till E3 to confirm it.
Anyways, feel free to ask me anything. I plan on writing some more, but my thumbs are hurting. Cheers!
Oh yeah... Online co-op career too!
