has anyone bought the f2007 and was hoping for it to be just awesome and been disapointed? i remember when i bought the game it was my mission to buy that car, and after alot of procrastinating i sat down and played until i could buy it. and to be honest, i'm not happy. one of the main reasons is it handles kind of funky on my system and it doesnt sound right at all. anyone else impressed with that 2,000,000 cr. sewing machine?

I like it. It's better if you have the feed back of the wheel at 10. Makes it a lot more fun and challenging to drive. Trying to squeeze as much out of the car as possible is a challenge indeed.

First of all make sure you turn all the assists off, and then make sure you have N1 tires on it.

In my opinion, I actually think it sounds pretty good. Like most of the sounds in GT, they're slightly off but they're there.

Anyways, as far as driving it...I think it's a blast.

It's a fantastic thing to drive.

And you don't know how realistic it sounds until you've actually heard it properly.

It's my favourite car on the game by far. Thats probably because thats the only car I can drive really fast and get fairly high up in the rankings.

It's just such a fantastic car to drive, it does everything you want it to do.

what kind of car would you want then, BenB? a car that can go full throttle through every corner...? stupid thread imo

The car is a great addition to the game it sound different handles great and gives me a buzz every time I race it .....it is not for everyone I have friends who race ford GT as fast as anyone but do not want the high speed pressure cooker feeling of racing the F2007....it makes me mad that there is not a F2007 event now.........so all cars are not for all people....its cool

F2007 handles great, is really fast and fun to drive... only thing I find weird is the sound of the F1 cars when theres a rolling start like at Daytona Road... the sound of the F1 sounds like its looped or something... just sounds weird other than that... Cool car to race in!! 👍

I thought it sounded spot on, and the handling is as unreal as I dreamed. No complaints from me (other than there not being more F1 cars yet other than the Ferrari).

To be honest I downloaded a save game just so I could drive the F2007 before I earned it myself. I thought it was fun for about 5 minutes. I haven't driven it since, even though I've now bought 8 of them.

It's pretty gay with a 6axe...

AND AN ADRENALINE RUSH WITH A FF WHEEL!!!

I don't bother with it unless I've got my wheel out,
which is almost never these days. (no room for it)

Even though it's showing it's age, F1CE will give a good F1 driving experience. Just my .02

I think theres a greater sense of speed in the F2007 in GT5p than any of the cars in F1CE... however I do really like F1CE still and probably play it about the same amount as GT5p really.

Do still like the F2007 mind, especially round London on an arcade time trial.... even with a six axis (not that im fast with it mind)

It sounds odd because for some reason the car sounds only have a small area of space they project to. Basically, it means a normal F1 engine you could hear from miles away, but with GT5:P, the engine sounds only project a small distance, and thus everytime you have the same car racing against each other, it sounds repetitive and short. Also, they only took one engine recording, and so they only applied one engine sound to it, so the same car racing itself will sound exactly the same, even though in real life there would be slight variations between engines.

I think this was probably done for performance reasons, though it does annoy me too.

Hopefully they'll fix this because it really ruins the atmosphere a lot in my opinion when you watch replays and don't hear the cars engine till its half way around the corner and close to the camera, it just looks very odd.

Absolutely true , F1CE is a true F1 driving game.

I'll double your $.02 ( lol ) and call .

I think thats the car suppose to handle like it does to real life counterpart. Everyone says that, and I would agree, only thing that's lil overrated with F2007 is that no matter how much down force car has, it almost has same top speeds..

By the way, remeber to play with F2007 on N1 tires. Never use anything higher because N1 are the ones closest to life for this car in game.

I Love the F2007 we just need a good event to run it on like FUJI PLEASE PD:)
Also F1CE with all aids off online is a tick better F1 experience IMO:tup:

While I agree with using N tires, limiting yourself to N1s seems unnecessary. In real life F1 cars have 4 different tire compounds, and we have no idea which N tire corresponds to which real life compound, or if that's even how it works.

I've watched F1 religiously since 2007, and the in-game F2007's sound is horrid. Horrid. The basic frequencies are correct (all it takes is some math to get those..) but besides that it sounds nothing like an F1 car.

The other thing that bugs me is the car's reaction to the road. In real life, everything shakes violently, especially the drivers head. In-game, the suspension bobs lazily, and the helmet sways gently back and forth, and even worse, the steering feels completely dead.
I'm not sure if this happens because Prologue has undetailed tracks or because the game doesn't update the physics enough times per second, but it bugs the crap out of me.

Yep, I agree with you. The Formula One physics in F1:CE seem more true to real life then the F2007's handling in GT5:P. I really hope Polyphony will improve on this for the full game.
I also hate the fact that the driver in GT hardly shows any response to the heavy G-forces. The steering wheel is always perfectly still... no twitching, etc.

I'm not sure how many of you have been to a GP... but the sound of a real V8/10 F1 engine is astonishing. The F2007 in GT5:P really does sound like a sewing machine. But I know PD's magic can change this, so I shouldn't be worried. 👍

Why when I want to buy the car, says : You can't purchase this car yet.

Why? Do I have to clear S event completely???

Thanks!

Yes, you have to clear S class completely. Top 3 or better.👍

ok for those of you sating that f1:CE is a good simulation of an f1 car that is totally wrong. Its probably one of the worst represntations of handling of an f1 car on the ps3.
The f2007 on gt5 prologue is a good simulation of an f1 car but the physics model at speeds greater that 200kmh is pretty bad. The car keeps accelerating no matter what, in real life the f2007 max speeds were only about 315kmh on most tracks but the f2007 easily reaches speeds of 340kmh easily on FULL DOWNFORCE. Also the corner speed the f2007 has in high speed corners in very unrealistic. Turn 2 at Fuji for example is taken almost flat out and in real life they downshift 2 gears to 5th to take the corner. The record laps are in the 1.14's while the times in real life were in the 1.17's. But f1CE is not a sim or anything close. What do you guys think about the f2007 in GT5 prologue VS REAL LIFE

To me the biggest problem with the F2007 is the need to turn the wheel 180 degrees or more to get the most out of the car through most turns, which of course is not realisitc

The car is too grippy even on inferior tires and the top speed is too high as well even on max downforce you can get 220+ at Fuji

Actually, this is what most racing games do. The only one I'm aware of that doesn't is Toca, and they cheat by using a generic race field sample. The only car that makes any sound is yours. But I agree that PD should spend a little more time on GT5 to make the audio more realistic.

Huh... I haven't raced Fuji yet, but on HSR, I couldn't push my car past 213mph without drafting. To me, the sound is fine. All it's missing are some backfire pops.

How different does this car feel from driving the F1 car in F1 Championship Edition?

If you dislike the F2007 there is something wrong. As to how realistic it is, Im not so sure, but the YouTube video of the game and real life side by side on same screen makes it seem very realistic. And If you watch the Replays of Fuji's top times you understand why they are faster than real life. And how anyone can drive it with FFB higher than 3 is beyond me. If I set my G25 to FFB of 5 I cant keep the wheel from shaking violently in a straight line, never even tried FFB on 10. That is the biggest problem with the car to me, I must change my settings when I change to that car.
