Just lost my game data at level 37/40

I'm devastated.
I really have no idea what happened.
I turned off my PS3 this morning, some 4 hours after last playing it and when I turned it back on this evening I was at level 0. My save game is corrupted and not backed up. I've used 100's of hours to get where I am. Is there really nothing I can do? I'd even send Sony the hard disc if they could fix it. I'd even pay them to do it.

I know how it feels mate. I needed to do 1 more Spec Ops in MW2 to get my first and only Platinum Trophy and the save just corrupted :ouch:. So if I can help you out any way add me. I run the widget most nights so can help build up your b-sepc.

He earned those levels, so he should keep it in his sig. Just my opinion.
Same happened to me once, and yes it sux.
Maybe share some b-spec drivers, i'm sure many here would race them for you.
 
I've been seeing far too many of these threads.Seems GT5 is acting up.
 
man really sorry for you if i can help you in anyway add roryspain . by the way in gt5 game options did you use the corrrupt file fixer . it seems a long shot but it helped me at level 15 bspec .
 
I shared a few cars last night, including the 2J. Hope it helps.

One question, can you still use my cars while I'm logged off?

Sure. As long as they are in your shared car profile any other user can use them whether you are logged on or not
 
Have you tried Salvage Files? You have started a new game though so it looks like your going with the flow...

No joke. This is rediculous. I lost all my stuff becuase GT5 corrupted my game save. I don't really even want to start over considering how long it has taken me to get where I am in the game. 1.06 or 1.07 was supposed to fix this corruption but it has obviously made it worse. Once again, PD has failed and I am frustrated.

You already have ps+ but didn't cloud save your files? It literally takes 10 seconds to do. Such a great feature.

No I didn't, which is a bit irksome....being level 0 with 65% trophies!

It only fixes lost replay videos and that sort of thing I think. I did try it but to no avail. Thanks for the tip though.
 
Partner I feel your pain. I was level 33 / 35 I had 15 + millions, 2 x2010, f2007, fgt, a few group c's, 2 lmps, 6 supergts all tune premium cars, all the expensive cars I wanted, everything full modified. On top of that I started from over in another account, I was level 25/ 29 with over 6 mil alot of cars. This is how I lost everthing. I was trying to do a race in the turbo series with my x2010 and while loading the game stuck. I pressed the ps button it wasn't responding so I press the the power button and still nothing happen. My silly self gone and eject gt5, put it back in and nothing happen so I had to plug it out. When I plug it back in, I saw the dreaded hard drive corrupt screen. I follow the instructions and it wouldn't restore the hard drive. The only good thing is I found out how to restore the ps3 so at least I can start over without buying a new system. If I could pay $50 to get that data back I would but it too late now. So I think I can understand your pain.
 
gentlemen, i had the same experience just now...

I've neglected to backup my data, and today had to force shut the system because it was stuck. I was a level 40 player with 450 cars in my garage.

All my cars were tuned and customized it's all gone.

As i could read from these fine reactions so far the only thing to do now is get drunk.

A year playing flushed down the toilet...
 
They should include on the cover of GT5 *usb stick not included* . Sorry to hear about this guys. That's why I back up my saves religiously and I also keep them on my computer just in case. If needed shoot me a friend request and I'll put up any cars to share for seasonals.
 
I have games on 2 different PS2's.
On my second run thru the game, I built up cash and exp, by working my way thru the seasonals. I also started adding "bobs" as quickly as possible.
So, I've got 6 B-spec drivers with about level 20 exp. on one machine, and one or two bobs with higher exp on the other.
I do believe that a USB drive is in order, for both of us.

Well luckily i still got the 20 DLC cars i bought so i can start over winning with those.

Like i said to misses dog after i punched the wall, if these are the bad things that happen in your life you can consider yourself a lucky man.
 
it happed also to me. But i only was lvl 20/0.
I make backups EVERY day now.
 
i also save my game data on an usb stick regulary. I'm not a level 40/40 player...but at least 37/35 and arround 98% completed. to loose all would be a terrible imagination.
 
one hour later and i'm a millionaire again and at level 17.
Thank the good lord for seasonal events!
 
Add me. I go away tonight, but can gladly send you a car tonight and Friday when I get home.
I got a nomad, GT one and Audi R8 LMS online so you can do the seasonals. Will leave them online all week for you.

No problemo matey i'm doing good, found a SLR mclaren a V8 vantage and a jag e type in the 2hand store as my first 3 standards, and i'm good in the premium departement also already thanks to the dough that comes in with winning seasonals.

I'll be back!!
 
This thread inspired me to make a backup, and set a new backup policy.... every time I move new music to the PS3, take the time to make a backup.
