I am so mad at this game right now.... I have been trying to get the Formula GT car now for the last 2 days, been using the license scroll through to refresh the used car lot. And still nothing after 2 frickin' days!!!!! not to mention I have seen other big ticket cars, like the tank car and LM cars about 5 times now... :grumpy: It's just frustrating that I need one stupid car and it wont show up.

Consider yourself the lucky one. Ive been on the hunt for one as well, for nearly a week. Spent 3 hours yesterday, trying to get one and no joy.
 
Me and the guys I race with have set up a car swapping thread (I'm sure one exists here somewhere). Anyone needs a car - you just send it to him and he does his races and sends it back. I think if you are playing this game with out utilizing the community driven aspect that you probably would get a little frustrated.
 
I think it makes it more rewarding when the car you're looking for finally shows up. I was looking for my Yeloowbird for a long time too, and when she showed up in the used car lot, I was one happy man.


Ideally though, I'd like all the standards to be in the dealership as well. Instead if having the Premiums and Standards mixed together though, when you click on a company, say Dodge, you can then select Premium or Standard, and buy whichever car you want. Then you could still have the used car dealership stay like it is, but everyone else can still but the cars they want.
 
Took me about 4 days to find the fgt.

As someone said share cars with friends, thats what I do. I'm lending cars all the time to friends to help them. Just make sure you trust whoever you are lending to.
 
I've only seen 1, and check often, I hope next time I see it I'll have the money.

I've been looking for this car for eight days now... Almost lvl 29 now... My wife says that when it turns up we should buy a lottery ticket. I feel your pain!

You can find cars cheaper in the Used Dealership than you could if you bought them new. It would stop a whole lot of complaining, and make the game more enjoyable overall, in my opinion.

GT4 had a used car lot, but you could also buy the cars in the dealership as well so I don't see why it wouldn't work in GT5.
 
I've noticed that when I have very little money in my account, the higher level cars show up in droves. Then when my bank account is brimming with funds, 90% of the used car lot is filled with cars in the 0 to 4 level range. I saw the Formula GT show up very early in my game and I was 1.4 million short at the time. Now I'm half way to Level 30, check the lot after every race and have never seen it since .... been doing that for 2 weeks.

Also, new rant topic ..... I saw a '71 Dodge Super Bee Hemi on the lot last night. I don't care for muscle cars at all, let alone ancient iron. I do have a friend however, that lives for these cars so I bought it for him, changed the oil in it and painted it his favorite color, bright yellow and tried to "gift" it to him. The game wouldn't let me give it away. The indiscriminate way the game is programmed is a real pain. It's like the Paul Simon song says ..... "there must be 50 ways to loose your money" :scared:

The servers were down yesterday, try and gift it today and it should go through. I haven't heard of any cars other than the preorder ones being ungiftable.
 
I too am on the hunt.

Seen one when I had 3.4million and /facepalm

Now i have the cash 6+ million and its no where to be seen, i'm patient though and i'm grinding B-spec in order to progress to unlock the Endurance races (currently B-spec 21).

I love it. And since they're are so many cars on GT5, it's awesome not even knowing what you're going to find that you want. It is a problem though money wise because when I see something I want I buy it, even if I won't drive it, just because I don't know when I'll see it again. haha

And I just grinded to get to a 24 so when the FGT does come up, I will be able to buy it. Other than that I'm not trying to do anything out of the ordinary to make it come up. I'll just race and when it appears it appears. I'll just make sure I have at least 4.8 mil ready for it.

But yeah I think it's exciting. Not sure why people are in such a hurry to beat one series when there are so many other things to do until it comes up.
 
I just had to laugh: last night not only did I see the Formula GT, but also the Suzuki Escudo in the lot at the same time. A cool 4.8M for the GT, and another 1.9M for the Suzuki. I laughed because I had a measly 1.4M in the bank, and was only at level 23 :D lol

That's life for ya...

[edit: now that I think about it, I guess I could've sold a few cars to make the 1.9M for the Suzuki (needs level 23, whereas the GT needs 24).]
 
You don't have to actually run a race to advance the used car lot, just load the track. I.e. in licenses, load the track, then just hit the next button to load the next one... it's probably the quickest way to advance the lot.

For me, I don't worry too much, because I'm still doing races for credits, so the lot advances anyways.
 
im level 25, almost 26, i have over 6 million credits, and the darn thing wont show up, i did manage to snag 2 yellowbirds and some other rarities too

Thanks for the enlightenment freedomweasel ... I guess I had a Homer Simpson DUH ! moment :sick: Knowing full well that the servers were down, I can't for the life of me figure out how I didn't process that bit of information. I guess I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer :scared:


You were most cetainly correct, it did go through today with no problem ..... my apologies to Kazanori San (and the rest of you)
