i just noticed that if u feather the throttle at the start instead of slamming ur finger down it gets away beta.... i feel stupid....

i knew that early, applying torgue in massive doses early aint always good.

Heh, I noticed that in the first test trying to get my B license. The stupid New Beetle would just spin off the line and I'd always timeout before the end of the run.

It's harder, but I'm making myself use the right stickfor throttle/brakes. It takes practice but it works better.

If you can't get the hang of that, try blipping the throttle on-off-on-off-on quickly to modulate wheelspin, or reduce how badly the traction control bites into your acceleration.

If you use manual for the licence test with the Beetle there is a way to speed up the launch even with it wide open. Just hold it in 1st until it stops spinning then shift to 2nd. When the wheels are spinning the RPM is faster than the car is actually able to move in the RPM. If you shift before it stops spinning you'll end up losing a lot of speed. Try it a few times and compare you ghost when you do it.

Neon_Duke - Ugh - I cannot get used to driving with the right stick.

But, since I puzzled out that the buttons themselves are analog, it has made life easier. It takes alot of practice to learn to modulate them...

Yeah, it's a pain. I spent 20 minutes trying to use the pressure-sensitive buttons, but in the heat of the moment I just couldn't do it. I ended up with the blip technique, then switched to the right stick.

The hardest thing about that is remembering to move the right stick only up/down, and the left stickk only left/right. If you end up cornering them both, you lose the fine control advantage because they only have limited movement at the extremes.

Arrow & an 'X' buttons rule you get these cool imprints in your thumbs and fingers from Test Course 10 laps +

lol - for that one, and the SuperSpeedway Endurance, I always just play it using the Picture in Picture. Last night I was watching wrestling and tearing around the Super Speedway endurance.

word-I always find something else to do like eating my dinner, watching boot-leg spiderman, and maybe a nap while racing endurance
