What- stock? They must be pretty light for a Mustang. I dunno what a Monaro does down the quarter- but you can probably bet the Monaro will have higher top end- more power and torque.

The weight difference is about 300lbs... Mustang weighs about 3500. GTO about 3800.

My uncle has an 03 automatic, runs 13.9-14.0 all day; an average driver should be able to crack 13.6 in a stick; a good driver 13.4.

I know a couple 6.0 GTOs have made it into the 12s stock. But average is about 13.5s or so, IIRC.

Well the 5.7 GTO had more power than the Monaro didn't it, so it'd be close to the mid 13s. A stock 2003 Monaro would be roughly looking at a high 13 to 14 flat. Too bad we didn't get Mustangs in Oz :P It might have sold well.

I know it's about 13.5 for the 5.7 Goat to 13.4 in the Mustang...

Of course, we can throw the Cobra into the equation and call it a day. After all, it's closer on price.

hmm.., not to butt in guys, but i think your "debate" has gone way over the original topic of this thread.., one guy is just asking for a good "next car", just give him it.., ReedK24, i have a good suggestion.., first upgrade your FTO, then race it at the Special Conditions Hall, Costa di Amalfi on Easy Difficulty.., after you win the 2 races, sell the price car, you should get 260k+ credits.., then feel free to buy whatever car you want, you can even FT (fully tune) it, if you want to.., just race again if you lack credits, it is a good way to earn money if you are just starting in GT4..,:) 👍

Don't worry, our debate ended with that last post or I would have posted back. Plus it turned more to friendly discussion by the end. I still recommend the Monaro to you. What a great car.:embarrassed:

I bought a Monaro and played around with it a bit. Not particularly light car, but the weight keeps the tires planted with very wide torque band. I didn't like it as a competitive car (only drove about 80km on it), but it's much more predictable and easier to handle than cheaper sports cars on the Nuerburgring.
