Its one of the first licences I think. I was given it as my first prize car.
I think its very fun the karting. Great little feature though I've only tried on 2 tracks at the moment.
I got mine for reaching level 1, which is a shame because when I bought my first car I bought a kart with my spare change in anticipation of my first kart race. I won a Yaris for passing the Nationa B license, only passed on bronze at the moment, I'm not going to try all golds until I've done a few races. You get given a kart at the end of the National-B licences I think. Either that or the Clubman Cup. Either way, I got given one, and those are the two parts I've completed.
The karting is really well done. The feeling of insanity you get when you hold the throttle wide open for ages is a perfect match for my own karting experience. Handling is well modelled too, I would say.
I am not in a good mood tonight. Don't make me modsmack you for backchat.Oh the irony![]()
Out of curiosity, how many people commenting on the karting have driven a 100cc kart? The ones I've driven certainly didn't handle like in the game; the back wheels should lock up straight away even in a straight line, it's (relatively) very difficult to slide one without being speared off into the barrier and kerbs don't suck the kart in quite like they should.
Genuinely interested as I've only raced club 100 which, while fun, are restricted and have concrete tyres. The karts in GT5 seem to handle much more like rent-a-karts rather than competition ones, at least from my (limited) experience.
Anyone know if it's possible to kart in the wet? Would love to see how that stacks up against the real thing as it's absolute carnage (and ridiculously funny)![]()
I'm pretty sure karts can only race with other karts.
Also, your speeling and grammar need work.
right first post so bear with me
ive been racing karts just like the ones in GT5 for 8 years, so i reckoln i can comment on their accuracy in the game.
To be honest I was dissapointed, and to me it really highlights that no matter how real we may think these supercars feel to drive, they really arent like real life.
the main skill in driving a kart is to be smooth. you are smooth through many reasons, but the most important one is steering wheel control.
driving the karts in the game, you have to throw the steering around ridiculously, and you would simply end up spinning doing that in real life. a 90 degree corner requires almost no turn of the wheel, karts are extremely sensitive
another thing we often forget are the forces involved in racing. karts generate a suprising amount of g force, and require a good amount of strength to be able to hold the steering wheel stable lap after lap, and of course in the game this doesnt happen. i would imagine this is even more exaggerated in the fast cars.
yeah, so, overall the karts just dont feel that realistic to me, and im suprised at the responses. and also, im a huge GT fan, had it since day one, so dont get me wrong, i love the game.
