I'm on Holiday and went Karting today with my Uncle :D

mmmm just Karting you think? Well in the Rain :rain: it was absolutley mad :burnout:...

Anyone been in the spray before? Phew does that back end slip about :rscared:.....

Isn't it great how you can use all your :gt: driving skills on the track? :curvyrd: Although I suppose driving a :nissan: Calsonic Skyline on a Wet :bubble: SS 5 is a bit different to Karting?...

Have you guys ever entered Karting Championships? :gldmedal:

I ran some senior races over ten years ago as a sub for a mate of mine who broke an ankle in a previous race (Mum never found out about that one!). Ran solidly midfield and brought the gear home in one piece!!

I've run reasonably grunty hire karts in the rain - they're awesome, especially when you realise you can correct understeer by pressing the accelerator and inducing oversteer - you can see the supervisors about to call you in until they see you're actually in full control of that powerslide across the apex (meanwhile, your mate drops the bundle at top speed on a painted over white line at the other side of the circuit, and is still spinning by the time you get over there).

Sounds like your a pretty consistent racer Vat_man? :D

I know what you mean about the supervisors :shakehead. One of the last corners :curvyrd: I went through (connected to the pits) I took wide line to do a Slow In-Fast Out racing line...

The guys kinda stared for a second like, 'what the 🤬 is he doing heading our way before the flag :chkflag:...

I used to race ****ers, both 125 and 250cc. I quit about a year back because it was getting ludicrously expensive. A lot of the guys in the 125s where kamikaze idiots, so it was dangerous. There were only a handful of people in the 250 class, so it wasn't competitive enough to be fun.

I did get a season championship title in my KT100 though :)

i went karting in the rain (terrential downpore) before (wiscosin dells) but the back end di not slide out because it was one of those underpowered commercial use karts, i was only 7.

I've been to a few indoor karting places with decent (40 mph) karts....it is cool how all that time in Gran Turismo pays off....like you really need to break before those hairpins!!!!! Man that karting is a rush, so close to the ground and steering that is so twitchy!

Here are some more up-to-date pictures. :)

Viperman has a big mouth. Heh, the 60cc mini champ. :rotfl:
Snoopie, I've been wanting you ask you - if you could buy any new kart, what would it be? I'm starting to take an increasingly serious interest in karting, and I'd like to know where to find out who makes the best machines.

I went to this Karting convention in February with my cousin because we were going to open our own indoor karting facility....we couldn't get the funding....but anyways.....CRGs looked the most badass, everyone was talking about them...they had a laser sight for the camber on this one cart. TonyKarts have a good rep too. Karts are weird because the suspension is in the frame.....

Karts don't have any suspension MXTHREE. :)

I did karting in the wet before, while it was raining heavily, and with no visor, so i was blinded + i was only 8!!!
And i beat this two guys, looked over 20 who had come to race, and strangly enough they slid off the course ALOT more than i did, i slid off once, they slid off countless times. Though i had the cart with the small engine i almost won.
Karting in the wet is really cool.

anyone know of any good go kart that arnt that much money and are good for dirt and pavement oval racing or where i can buy parts to build onto my dads old frame. i was going to get into racing at a track near my house when i was 8 or 9 but i decided to continue riding atvs instead and now that i am about to be 16 my dad is gonna put me in his sprint car if he is able to. i do not hvae enough money for a sportsman midget and my dad doesnt want to give up his racign for me so i am going to get a kart and go racing myself.

Go karting in the wet, at night, is really fun. Raining so much that you don't want to go on the grass for fear that you'll sink in some vast boggy mess. When you do inevitably end up on some solid(ish) grass, you turn with full steering lock, press the accelerator and go straight on.
That was a few years ago, but I still remember it 'cos it was soooooo good.

One of the projects me and my friends have is to turn an old gokart into an offroad kart. Normal gokart frame, sterring, seat etc. but a 248cc ex-lawnmower engine, a crude rollover hoop and some wheelbarrow wheels. It'll be great once it's finished, and there's an old pitch'n'putt nearby that has loads of little hills and bunkers for, um, 'testing' it.

yeah you dont belive me, pfft. well i would eather buy a tonykart a TopKart (as seen in pic #28 (me)), crg (#25 car), or a Paul Tracy Kart a.k.a PTK
