I had to wrestle this one from the grip of an EB clerk that swore it was their last copy and that it was reserved. Well, figuratively speaking. I bribed him.

Anyway, this game is freaking crazy! Insanity!

And that's why it's so good. I wanted to describe it, but I just can't. It's beyond words.

If you're smart (and lucky), you'll get yourself a copy. ;)

It's on a FedEx plane right now. I had to get it at EBGames.com, it's the only place that has it.

The guy at the local Gamestop took 10 minutes to figure out what the hell I was talking about.

I have the JP version
although I dont understand the conversation
but the gameplay definitely insane
I had passed a level that I got to 50 Meters at the end
and I can stick anything on the ground
 
I got mine yesterday. Katamari Damacy should be a required game for anyone who owns a PS2. Get it now!

I've only played the first and second level, but it's so much fun. It's hillarious when you get your Katamari (the ball thing?) big enough to absorb those peskey little rats. Although it looks like you can get so big that you can stick err, people and bigger things.
 
if you have a big screen tv
should try multiplayer mode
but your friend may take time to learn how to control the ball
sticking people is the best part
there are some special mission, you have to avoid the theme stuff
like "Cow" star, anything related to "cow", including milk
if you stick them, you are done
so sticking other stuff first, and avoiding cow stuff
then you will get the star bigger and brighter

btw I like the game music alot 👍
 
It's the feature game at Penny Arcade today. The comic, without knowing anything about the game, is still pretty funny. I kind of figured as much.

There's a trailer over at Gamespot - looks pretty cute! Could use four player action though.

Is there an NTSC US version? Or is this something that has to be obtained and played through other means? (:

In the trailer it picked up small houses. :)

Unfortunately I have to wait another month before it's released here but it seems as a must buy. Can't wait.

I beat it already. I wish I could find the sound files from the game to download. I need them.
 
I'm guessing the game is on a dvd rom. If you have a dvd drive in your computer, try out a program called CD-DA Extractor. ;)
 
Can somebody describe it? I read IGN a bit but I'm more visual, and reading through all this with publicity everywhere is distracting.
 
It's.... a game... that involves you being the son of the ruler of the cosmos, and... and... you roll over stuff with a magical ball and it gets bigger and bigger. And well, that's it.

Did I mention that it's crazy? Just play it and you'll understand.

you dont kill. you roll over them and they stay in the ball, as it grows. you start ridiculously small, rolling over buttons and stuff, then rats, then eventually people. it gets crazy when you can run over gas stations and apartment buildings. plus the game is just so damn unpredictable with the story.
