Yesterday, the lead story on NineMSN was Barack Obama.

Two hours ago, it was Katy Perry's antics at the MTV Music Awards. The amount of attention this pin-up girl for exploitaion and creative bankruptcy gets is put me on the very of going into a catatonic state, in which I am likely to hallucinate that I am fightng in a guerilla war between the NERF and SuperSoaker factions.

Seriously, how can she sleep at night knowing that everything about her is carefully constructed to sell albums that are litte more than radio-friendly made-for-MTV unit shifters and amount to nothing more than pop music of the lowest common denominator?

The mind boggles.

Wake up and smell the coffee. 90% of all bands and artists these days follow that theme.

I was shocked yesterday when I was watching the EMA awards, she looked like she'd just stepped straight out of the 1950's

Coffee is extremely polite compared to what I would have said...

Record producers are now making sackloads of cash by televising the manufacturing process too (X Factor, Pop Idol etc.), ensuring massive amounts of money for themselves even before a single record is made. Genius on Simon Cowell's behalf though - why stop at making millions from genuinely talented people, when you can also make millions from the endless supply of woefully inept wannabees?

How can Katy Perry sleep at night? Pretty easily, no doubt... and while we're on the subject, if she ever needed somewhere to put her head down, I'd volunteer in a jiffy :D

 You know some good cheap B&B's?

...or were you talking about the 'putting her head down' bit? :O

I love Katy Perry. Something different about her as opposed to the other commercial pop princesses or whatever you want to call them.

Katy Perry is one of the worst live performers I've had the displeasure of hearing. It's a shame, because he music is pretty catchy. After studio fixing, her voice sounds great on the records, but it's a different story live. Deary me.

Would say no, however.
