Wow, I can't believe all the hate on this website. I never would have thought that GT fans would act like this. We all know that no game is perfect. GOW3 had alot of crappy textures and frame issues after 4 years of development and people never complained this much. Honestly this game is fantastic and we should all know that PD will support there game. this game in 1 year will be a totally different game. Honestly I love GT5 and any complains I have are minor and not worth really posting about. VIVA LA GT5

I agree 👍

Game looks ok but so did Grid, was expecting a bit more. At least with grid my G25 worked fine. In this game it has some problems which destroy the experience some times. Second gear and breaks staying on randomly, you just don't know when it is going to happen, for me it was last corner in first race, car wouldn't rev and i went from way in front to 4th. I hope it’s something they can fix with a patch because i really want to give GT a fair go and hope to do some online racing when they get the servers going properly.

If you think you'll win a false advertisement case, you need your head checked. Just admit you bought an inferior product, sell it, but a DFGT and move on, or G27 if a clutch is of over the top importance.

The G27 and G25 have problems with this game too, you whould think them having a clutch that is only used in GT would indicate that is should work with this game. this game is fine if you are a kid on a controller so I'm not sure why they say the real simulator in their promotion of it.

I have a G27 and have only deals with some second gear issues wi h seam to o ly happen the the selected car is spinning.

Yep there is a trick to getting second gear but the breaks on the G25 randomly stay on a lot, very frustrating. Going to do some calibrating trials tonight and see if i can get the dead zone in a bit.

I just be happy without 60sec menu load times and the terrible collision physics. 6 years later and when you collide with a car you are mysteriously glued together. The rest of the game is fantastic however.:)
My menus load quickly, you might wanna install or something. After it finished, it is flying for me. This is the fastest loading GT game for me, so no complaints in that section for me.

Load times for me are extremely fast. Probably the fastest PS3 game I've played.

As long as you're not logged into PSN that is. Otherwise they're really slow, but log out and they're great.

It's also gotten faster now that it's all done installing.

Thats what I said at first but after playing for 2 days straight I said to myself that they must of been smokin when they made this game! Before I go on let me say that im GT fan sinse GT3.

Question I ask myself what in the world have they been doing for 5 years? The biggest problem with gt5 is the game flow. For example I have won cars but cant even use them in races!I have some cars that I won in the beginning of the game and I cant use them in none of the races and I'm on my last license test, and even if there is a race in "Extreme" events that will let me use my Mazda's and other cars that I won in the beginning of the game they will be useless in extreme events.
They did not think through the game mechanics, the good thing is that they can come out with an update that will fix game flow and make it more like it was in GT3 and GT4.

Oh and please get rid of this retarded ass damage system, I drive pretty good but boom someone hits me from behind and it cost almost as much as a new car to fix my car! Of course I don't have no $300,000 to fix my cars at beginning and middle of the game so I get stuck with a car that doesn't handle good and AI that hit me he dint get punished for hitting me,to make it short do full damage and do it right or get rid of it altogether.
Other than these two most retarded thing I ever seen in driving game this game is solid enough. But still five years?! Forza 3 looks just as nice with only fraction of time to develop, did it take 5 years for game physics or what because it sure as hell dint go into graphics, yeah sky looks real and some stages are nice while others look like updated PS2 textures Yakuza(free roaming driving game) for regular xbox looked better than some stages in GT5 and let me stress the point that it was free roaming and on regular xbox! While GT5 only deals with straight line driving and trees don't even look real! Ok I'm gonna stop, I've been always defending PS3 to all my friend that own 360's but I think I'm gonna stop now because I'm starting to think 360 is superior gaming machine only thing ps3 is good for is media capabilities.

Edit: fix some pesky spelling mistakes for you there.... I won't even start on the grammar! I strongly suggest you read the AUP

Hi not sure what you mean by better overall package I own both games and cannot see what is better about Forza 3 for me it feels like an inbetween GT5P and GT5 the whole game feels very small and linear compared to GT5

For me it is about the game design and finding my way around the features and options. GT5P and GT5 are my first games in the GT-series so I am not used to the game setups (assuming they are similar across all GT games?).

I understand the menus can be a bit much in GT5 I admit the menu in GT4 was a lot better organised shame that they have drastically changed it but for me its not a game breaker

After the install, my loads FLY..

No complaints in that department for me.

1. and 3. are features related to Sony PlayStation (PSN) as a whole and have nothing to do with Polyphony. Kaz has confirmed we are getting leaderboards and matchmaking. IMO matchmaking is whats going to give this game tremendous life. It will basickly be GT mode online, witch is what I expected from day ,1 but later is better then never. Sony is supposedly going to add cloud based saves as a feature of they're PlayStation Plus service for PSN, then you will be able to back up your saves, but you have to subscribe to PlayStation Plus, basicly there version of Live. As soon as cloud based saves are arvailable I'm going to sign up for PlayStation Plus.
Im not sure your right about point No3. I haven't played many online games on the PS3 but im sure when I played the Uncharted 2 online demo I simply just invited friend to the room. So this seems to be a fault with how GT5 has been designed rather than PSN.

Hope your right about the backing up of gamesaves. I would instantly pay for PSN+. Very much agree about matchmaking.

Just add I have no problem with the loading times. Infact very impressed with the speed.

#1 priority for any GT5 update... Realistic crash physics.

I don't CARE if you can't see damage. You can't in Shift, online. But when two cars bang together in the real world, it is absolutely NOTHING like what happens in GT5. What's the POINT of photo-realistic damage, when the collision that made it is anything BUT realistic. Sure, Shift's handling is suspect. But when cars rub together, or bang together, or crash together, it's more real than the polite 'bump!', So sorry-san!' that GT5 has.

I'm sorry, and I know GT5 has some great handling physics. But it does a TERRIBLE job (compared to Shift) of convincing me I'm in the cockpit of a flat out racing car. TERRIBLE....:yuck:

Mind you, if Kaz-san DOES fix the crashes, he's going to have to work hard to make the pain of causing them great enough that few actually WANT to crash, just to see **** happen and bits fly off. That's Shift's Achilles Heel. It LOOKS so good, all the kids want to do is crash, not race!

In my opinion, the biggest problem that needs to be fixed is the fact that some (or possibly ALL) cars are problematic with regards to tuning. I made a post about this in the tuning section's "premium upgrades" thread, but basically, when making tuning adjustments to my evo X in an attempt to combat the attrocious understeer that it has (which is completely unrealistic, BTW), I noticed that no matter what I do to the settings, nothing changes the behavior of the car.

Suspension settings, center diff settings, lsd settings... nothing. I even went to the extreme of running absurd settings like MAX SOFT on EVERYTHING in the front and MAX STIFF on everything in the rear, and nothing. Even with the center diff set to 90% rear, and as much toe out as I could put in the rear, the car still understeers. Hell, even from a dead stop, full lock to one side, e-brake held and clutch dumped at redline, the car won't even step the rear out! It just plows forward like a fwd car!

So, it would appear that the tuning settings don't, in fact, do ANYTHING! They are just there for show. Now so far, this is the only car that I have modified, so I am not sure if this is just a glitch with this one car, of if this problem is universal for all of the cars, but this is very disappointing. This ruins the whole point of the game, for christ's sake. If this doesn't get fixed ASAP, I'm trading this in and going back to forza. While far from perfect, at least you can properly tune and set up the cars. After 6 years of development and a 70 million dollar budget, this game is very disappointing. Maybe sony should contract turn 10 for their next platform...

Just an idea but the same thing was happening to me and I took me a while to figure it out because in my previous car I had gone into "race options" not car options and i turned off all driver aids. TC=0 ABS=0 and when I bought a new car these settings reverted back to TC=5 and ABS=1 ****s up the handlingn of the car and should be fixed i would think with some lovely DLC.
Along with an option to remove the HUD before they fix ANYTHING else.

I'm sad to say the only thing they nailed perfectly is the Driving Physics and the menu music.

Everything else is dissapointing. I can't lie to myself anymore.

I just hope they are working their asses off with patches that fix bugs, and keep their hands off DLC for now. I'm not buying a single DLC before the game is made playable.

Somewhat agree, it's GT alright...but my last was GT3 i think. It is the only option for my PS3 though. A couple years ago, I was huge into GTR. Loved the physics and LAN in that game. Did some online with GT5 yesterday, well after it crashed a couple times. Got it to run smooth, I enjoyed it. I hope they improve it though...leader boards and all that jazz. After what KAZ said, there's hope. This game was made for DLC, hopes SONY and PD

I'd like to have new options in the game such as turning the music off. It's annoying to hear the music in-game! I just want to hear the engines.

And after a race, I'd like to have a restart option to race again. When I need to make some money, I have to race over again, again. Actually I'm being forced to go back to the menu and load the same track again!

Hopefully Kaz will read this comment.

I'm pretty sure PD did that on purpose to deter people from simply restarting the same race over and over again to get money.

You can turn the music off.....Options===>Audio Settings

Just turn RACE BGM down to 0

He doesn't need to, you can turn it off in Audio Settings in the Hardware section of the Options menu.

Try going to the options menu and setting Race BGM to zero - after all its only an option that has been in every GT title to date, very first thing I do with any GT game.

Oh, and another thing. I am annoyed by the gamesave copy protection. I'm going to spend a lot of my time going through the progress in GT5, and what if my PS3 breaks? Gone forever...

I want to backup my gamesave! And my father would like to bring his gamesave over to my house to continue his progress.
