Let's see if I will get something right :P Kaz can cheat though.

(take it with a grain of human drama)

Livery Editor - GT6/GT7 (decals, stripes) *shows some simple shapes* everyone on GTP proceeds to praise and then immediately bash PD

*patched in GT6 but not in GT7 on launch*

Old tracks - We are creating new fictional tracks for GT7. (said on reddit) Old tracks won't return

*2 old tracks on launch* - none of which from top 5 requested

Time frame for missing features
- late Fall 2014 (btw I said that in January :D)

Porsche in GT - when the EA license expires, we'll putt them in the game within 3 milliseconds but EA bought the Eternity package so it's a tough deal. Nothing confirmed for near future.

AI update in GT6
- nope, AI is CPU intensive and we used all of it on PS3 - expect an overhaul in GT7 with different types of drivers. For example we want to recreate an average/bad driver that crashes a lot and we watched a lot of Romain Grosjean on-boards. Don't worry - there's no damage.

Endurance racing
- yeah that's actually quite easy to add - it'll come soon to GT6

*endurance races never comes to GT6*

Why don't you share more news ? - Because there's nothing to share and if there's stuff not directly related to the game you complain (see pit-stop)

Event creator - No - we need to sell those credits packages somehow. We make the game fun and people will actually enjoy it, earn tons of cash and who will buy the credits ? ;) This is also why online races pay so little.

Tourist Trophy 2 - no way, we're already too busy with GT6/7 and then 8 . I predict we won't have a spare hour till retirement. Not excluding bikes in GT7 though - after all we have those perfectly acceptable in 2015 models from TT :D

*actually uses old TT models*

And a cherry on the top:

Do you like other games - are there some features you would like to copy from them ?

That's a very, umm, interesting quote you got there. Especially because it's from 2010. Is the same article available on English Eurogamer? Reading that on Google Translate is pretty annoying but I could only find the DK version searching that quote.

I have no idea. I found that interview by accident on Italian site which linked to DK Eurogamer.

The funny thing is the query I used was

Sushi kazunori yamauchi

:lol::lol::lol:

What are the odds right :D

this thread is pretty immature. You must have alot of free time on your hands. Each to their own i guess..
If you really believed "each to their own" you wouldn't have made that comment to begin with would you?

Having said that, I can't believe the mods haven't shut this down:lol: Must not have noticed yet. Hopefully TenD or Jimi don't see it:D

well its expressing my opinion but being respectful about it. trying to be civil is all.

I saw it a couple hours ago, thought it would be more amusing to wait until Johnny P and Toko have posted.

I always find it respectful when someone posts on my thread with, "You must have a lot of time on your hands, this thread is pretty immature". I'd hate to see what you're like when you're disrespectful. :scared:

I am stating what I feel about it, that's it. I was not derogatory towards the OP in any way. if he/she has lots of time on their hands then great.. I am actually jealous of that

The AI does not need more computational power to work well.

It needs to have the rubber band removed.
It needs to start a reasonable distance from the player. Standing starts would be about perfect, and adding qualifying would be exactly perfect.
It needs to be given cars that when driven by the AI approximate the speeds that a player can produce. If that means making hacked cars with increased levels of grip and power, so be it.

Preferably it needs to be given several levels of cars to choose from depending on the level of the player. Whether this is triggered by a player selectable option or automatically by analysis of prior results doesn't really matter.

The awareness and racecraft of the AI is mostly fine. I won't say it's the best in the world, but it's not the problem. The problem is that if you start thirty seconds behind the lead car, it's unthinkable to have competitive AI, because the player would never be able to win without cheating.

Once they remove that issue, maybe we'll be getting somewhere.

What I find even more interesting is the fact that he's completely ignoring what other games do when it actually could actually benefit the series. Obviously, he has his own vision, but I still wonder if his approach to the competition has changed lately?

(Google translate)
EG.dk : When you look back at the games that have come out since GT4 - Forza Motorsport as the probably biggest title - do you see things you want to implement GT series? Functions that have brought the genre a step forward? Or developer of Gran Turismo in a kind of vacuum, where you ignore the competition?

KY : The last is actually exactly what we do. We don't squint at other games while we develop Gran Turismo - it is solely based on what we want to achieve with the game.

The game actually does that, and rival cars are matched to your own using those multiplicators. The problem, like you wrote, is the whole concept of the race setup, where you have to be way faster than the competition to go from 16th to 1st place in 5 minutes of racing. The rabbit running ahead does get a faster car, and seems to behave like a much faster driver than the rest of the field too, just applying that code to all drivers on the field would solve a huge problem. But it's PD...
