Such as, left only, right only, front only, rear only, selective (means you can select which ones individually) and being able to put more than one compound on an axle...

Also, diesel vs petrol. Is there really any model in the game that accurately represents that because I think not.

But say they get rid of the standards, say they remodel the 280z in stunning HD with a full interior and beautiful body work and sound.

But if they keep the standard cars, you're stuck with a relic from TWO GENERATIONS AGO

SURELY it's better to be rid of these old garbage models and take the very likely chance that a car will be brought back.

I don't get this logic of being content with mediocrity.

Atleast get rid of the Syline GT-R variants that already have a premium variant. The R32, R33, R34 all have the best model as the premium variant. And all the standard NA Miatas and the Honda S2000 Variants.

I think what @Samus is trying to say there is that there ins't really 800 standard cars.

I'm with you though. I personally have to have the AE86's and the CRX's both of which are standard...I will take what I get and not complain too loudly but it is a bummer that they don't look as good as they could.

My position has the same value as the other one.

Will you agree that some of the cars need to go? The ones that are literally exact copies of other cars, just a different regional version? Some of these cars don't even exist in real life! There's no such thing as a 3000GT SR or MR, they would be called GTO (which we also have). There's no reason to have both.

For the rest, I'd honestly rather they clean up some of the most important models, and get rid of the rest for now. Then they could bring them back gradually as they clean them all up. This would have the added benefit of giving everyone something to look forward to at all times. I'm sure I would miss plenty of cars at first, but since I've never really gotten around to driving every car I wanted to, it would probably force me to drive some of the cars I haven't yet.


On the other hand, GT6 surprised us a bit by doing a significant amount of cleaning on many of the standard car models and textures. If they do port everything to GT7, I'd expect the quality of the rest to improve as well, which would be good enough for me. The lack of interiors would certainly be a deal-breaker for some, but I personally don't mind.

I'm a fan of the series although with today's announcements and revelations it's becoming harder to be optimistic.

I'm also someone who doesn't just take whatever I'm given as some here seem to be. I want to encourage the game to move forward, and including PS2 relics in a PS4 game to appease the few people who wouldn't buy the game because of it is not moving forward.

There is literally no other developer in the world doing what PD are planning to do. Think about that.

You will always have it...in GT6 where it belongs. No one is stopping you from continuing to play it forever.

Would you still buy the game without it at all? You'd have ~500 PS4 quality cars to choose from, but you wouldn't buy the game if some other cars you liked in previous games were gone?

Thanks for clearing that up and asking the question.

I personally don't think standard cars should be in the game, it's really rather silly, but if he wants to put them in there then so be it it won't stop me from buying GT7 and I will still buy the ones I like that aren't premium.

I intepret this thread's comments as I do, all I see is irrational fear of something we don't have to use. Saying that standards stop the series from moving forward is illogical.

And we still have no idea what they'll even look like on the PS4, a few select standards were updated for GT6 after all.
