Here's a feature that I'd really, really like implemented.

I usually visit GTP right after coming home from school. I go to the Forums home page, then open some of the forums in tabs (GT3, Questions and Comments, Rumble Strip, etc.) However, sometimes I'm in a hurry, and can only visit a couple of these forums. Later on in the evening, I come back to visit the forums that I didn't visit, but I can't use the "New!" link for the threads, because the cookies now say that since I visited and then left, I must've seen everything that I wanted to, and so assumes that I've read those threads.

What I'd like is for some way to tell vB to keep a bunch of threads (or a whole sub-forum) from being marked as read... basically, to keep the post spot that the "New!" link would link me to until I return later. I have no idea about how I'd like it to be available (maybe checkboxes next to each sub-forum?), but it would be awesome to somehow have it. :)

Yes, I too, often view just a few threads at a time and come back later and can't find what I haven't read. Good Idea.:)

Well, the "New Posts" button in the upper right of the screen logs everything chronologically for your visits. Including the post you've "already" read.

I tend to use that to review what I might have missed.

I'm really not sure I understand how that would work...all threads are displayed as 'new' since your last visit. By changing some forums/threads to your next-to-last-visit, would start some very confusing circumstances and I really don't know how it could be done.
