This week's theme is JUMP! How fitting it is that the song Jump by Van Halen is playing as I post this

I am Steven Spielberg and I am hiring you, the best stuntman (or stuntwoman) around, for my next major motion picture. It will be a high-action film centered around a muscle car with car chases.

For the grand finale of the car chase, we need the car to get some air. You don't have to include multiple cars in this shot. You may only post landing shots if they are at the end of a logical sequence of shots, showing the car in the air first. Sequences of action are encouraged.

You must lift all four wheels off the ground. I *will* allow a pic if you only have it off by a couple feet, however you won't win. By the same token, you won't automatically win by posting the pic of largest perceived air. The trick shot at Infineon where it looks like the car has shot out of the stratosphere is prohibited. However, other entries on Infineon are acceptable.

I am looking to really make a memorable movie here. So, I need the most unique attention-grabbing heart-pounding angle you can conjure up. Don't give me the same old side shot or some lame picture of the car. I need excitement. I need the best angle you can think of. I need to make money!

Any 'Dukes of Hazzard' entries will be thrown out. I'm not looking for lawsuits here.

Also, don't give me the same old bs jump shots we've all 'scene' :p Entries from Seattle or Trial Mountain or other common ones BETTER be VERY good!

Keep in mind I want you to stay as true as possible to the original GT4 picture. The deadline is July 2nd at 3pm. 5 entries per person. Please post the full size version of your picture, but in thumbnails of course.

Go!

Arrghh! After reading your post to this point I had almost decided to photoshop the car off the ground. No, not really... But what are the places again, besides Seattle and the 'Ring, where you get all four wheels in to air? *scratches his head* Need to go wreck some cars to find out.

Thats exactly what I don't want people to do.

Seattle, Nurburgring, Test Course, Costa di Amalfi, Cathedral Rocks, Smoky Mountain, El Capitan etc etc

How do you jump a car at the Test Course? It's kinda flat isn't it? :)

I'm not sure how this stuff works ... how many pictures do we post and where do we post them? Sorry, but I've never even gone close to a picture competition before :blond:

go to http://www.imageshack.us and upload your photo
then you reached a page and copy the link (using Thumbnail for forums (1))

Just like franz said.

When you are replying to a thread, if you keep scrolling down you will see "Upload Images to Imageshack", where you upload them one at a time. Each time copy/paste the link, like how franz said. :)

But I can enter FIVE images?

Yes, up to five. Other competitions allow 1 to 3 usually, but I think I get a better idea of what you are trying to convey with more attempts. Also, you have a better chance at winning :)

i can't miss this one... since i just got a few muscle cars.. like my black super bird.

my bad i just realized that my SUPERBIRD is Dark Green, NOT! Black, :(

Here are my entries, my dad owns a Cobra and I know he'll get a kick out of these even if no one else does :-)

why no rough landings? i think that would just make that many more interesting pics.
Anyone can land rough. A stuntman makes big jumps and lands as smooth as possible, not rough

Ok.....good idea.....you have to post a logical sequence then, showing the car in the air first. I'll add this to the first post.

Good pictures so far guys 👍 I like the steel calm collected look on your driver, MisterWeary :p

1 entry to much, but they all look nice

1+2) Our hero leaves the green fields of home to rescue his girlfriend from the evil clutches of the bad dude. Upon reaching the hillside road that leads to the baddie's desert compound, our hero is forced to jump the road to avoid triggering security sensors, thus allowing him to reach the compund undetected.

3) During a chaotic fight within the compound the hero's car is blown in to the air by a grenade. The car completes a full barrel roll before landing on all 4 wheels and driving to safety.

4+5) Grabbing his girlfriend, our hero tries to get out the compounds main gate but, alas, it is closed before he can get through. Spinning his car madly around the compounds buildings, he lines up the only other route out. Foot flat to the floor he drives straight for the outer fence. Leaping the car off a short crest, he sails clear over the minefield and fence, landing safely on the other side, and driving off in to the sunset with his best gal by his side.

THE END

I fail to see how vr6 posted more than 5 entries?

I do agree that they look nice, though. :) The first picture 'sticks out' a little more than the rest. :)

1) Our hero rushes to rescue his girlfriend from the desert hideaway of the bad dude.
2) Cut to close up shot of car jumping at an amazing angle.
3) Having saved his girlfriend, our hero tries to rush back through the gates but they have been closed. Change to long distance shot of car leaping over a crest.
4) Cut to close up of jumping car.
5) Our hero safely jumps his car over the hideaway's fence and escapes to freedom.

Great scene by scene commentary there :)

I do ask however that you post thumbnails of the full size versions of your pictures.

If you could post pic #4 in such a way where you don't have the big shadow on the left in the sand, that'd be great. See if you can jump the car further to the left so the bright sand will be uniform without any shadows there :)

These are actually out of gallery - the full size pics are long gone but I'll try to recreate them again.

Getting rid of the shadow is going to be hard stuff - it takes up a large chunk of the hill at Laguna. Add to that the car was actually travelling sideways, not forwards.

I understand. It isn't a big deal, just something I'd like to see. If you can do it, fine; if not, it's ok 👍
