I noticed while I was going through the tuning options while trying to tune my ZR1 to perfection for Nurburgring that there is no tire pressure tuning!
I just thought this was a really basic element of tire telementy and it effects all aspects of your tires, how they heat up wear and grip.
Not to start a flame war or anything but Forza 3 had this option (just saying).
Dont get me wrong, Total GT fan boy here since GT3:tup:

ps. Give us some damn tuning save options

What is your question? No the game has no tire pressure adjustment which sucks but what can we do ya know?

No weight distribution for cars either.
Forzas tuning is better.

You can't tune pressure properly without detailed temperature readings anyway.
Just like camber.

Akira, did you do your steering assists test mate. Just interested.

Tire pressure is not a biggie for me. I wish we could save some tunes much more.

^ totally agree, we desperatly need tuning save files becuase i run some cars at differant HP for online races and when there is a 200hp differance your suspension is all wrong!
but ya any way i was just hoping it could be a future patch hard hard can it be? becuase your turn in response can be drastictly changed with harder tires

I just have to keep reminding myself that this isn't a racing sim, it's a casual racing game. That doesn't make the problems any better, but at least I don't get upset because of all the missing or just badly done elements.

Being able to save tuning setups is needed badly. I can't understand how this was left out.

Because you can jerk off to car porns, but not saved setups.

yeha save tuning and FF/RWD for replays ?!?! Did they forget it ?? I mean, it was avaible in prologue no ?

How Am I suppose to take a shot of a super crash on lap 121 in my endurance race ? Wait 2 hours watching the entire race ?

Been saying since day 1, no tire pressure adjustment implies something big is missing from whatever tire "physics" they claim they are using.

Obviously, such "perfectionist" detail are overlooked by most players who only care more about painting their rims and how large of a turbo they can fit into a civic, hence no one cares except for a hand full of people who actully buy this game for driving.

I have to resort to buying multiples of the same car for different states of tune. not really complaining though as I can have different paint colors for different tunes.

mabey the blue ray disc if full and small features were cut from prolouge????

I have to agree. I found tuning in FM3 to be much easier and more convenient, and actually felt compelled to bother with it in the first place. I enjoyed tuning my cars in FM3 and seeing my lap times trimmed down by a few seconds. In GT5, I just don't bother.

Which is another little advantage to FM3. I could look at detailed tire info in FM3, including watching my tire degradation and the temperature of each part of each of my tires individually. I'm not sure why I can't do this in GT5.

Tire pressure is not a biggie for me.

I guess it's not a huge deal, but it can still make a difference of fractions of a second off my laps, and on longer races make a meaningful difference in tire wear. Over three laps it won't mean much, but over thirty laps or sixty laps....

as a former forza player i too have to agree on tuning but i found the game a little arcadey for my like, but to sum it up i thought tire pressure was such a obvoius and mundane thing in racing that it was shocking it was not there

Some big issues with Forza 3 tuning.
#1 AWD swaps make cars dominate in thier class.
#2 55 PSI makes cars faster and when damage is off they still handle well resulting in very unrealistic behaviour and lap times.
#3 Very little difference in grip between the worst street tire and the best race tire.
#4 Downforce options are all over the map within a class.
#5 High front Low rear stiff front soft rear makes cars faster.

Other wise pretty good in the tuning department. Forza 2 was better but still suffered from #2 above.

I dissagree. maybe they have more options, but I highly doubt they are precise in any way as much as GT5.

In the actual tuning department Forza has 2 things over GT5 and that is tire pressure adjustment and a pop up telemetry that you can view in replays or while driving.

GT has variable traction control, variable abs in race brake adjustments and torque settings for the rear none of which are in Forza.

In the upgrade department. many more options in Forza though many are very unrealistic not the least of which is the dreaded AWD swaps and huge HP engines available on many but not all cars. If you like to drive GM you are out of luck as the AWD Dodge and Ford as well as many others will destroy them when tuned to the top of most classes on most tracks.

I ruined a 300ZX in Forza 3 with the ridiculous upgrades and AWD done to it, to the point I could tap the hand break and make it do a 720 spin and keep driving. It was the most Hollywood style driving I had ever seen. This just doesn't happen.

You can take upgrades off though.
GT5 your stuck with a messed up car until you buy a new one.

i remeber when i had an xbox instead of ps3 and i played forza 3 and the forza forums were flamed with that stupid AWD swap which is so unrealistic along with dropping a hemi in a lotus.....

Hmm RX 7 event. I was told to increase springs to maximum, ride height to minimum, roll bars as stiff as they go. Shocks and dampers to maximum.
Areo full downforce.

When I read that I though oh eye, hear we go, an un handable car. I was surprised to say it worked. That lead me believe that increase sliders to maximum for best results. Now I'm not saying thats applicable to all cars, I'm just getting started in GT.
In the other game though this tactic most definitely does not work. Slide everything up and it's gonna handle like a brick.

Just saying.

you can un-check them in the settings menu can't you? if you upgrade exhausts for example, you can uncheck it and it goes back to default. i did this recently for the seasonal events to get my rampant civic down to the bhp limit :)

first post btw :D
