I honestly don't see why some of you think it looks like a MINI (apart from a coloured roof but that can't be the whole resemblance can it?) or that it looks French somehow.
If anything, I see a lot of modern American muscle car influences (shrunk to pocketsize) with an overall Germanic overtone perhaps, in fact I can easily imagine it with a Ford badge for example (and not because they're both oval-shaped).

The interior to me has the same refreshing appeal as the original Audi TT had to an extend, I also don't see how it would be far fetched to execute something very similar (including the overlapping front seats which I really like) for a production version.

As much as I like it & think it's a right step for Kia, I'm going to remain pretty positive that all the things I like will be removed for production, starting with that interior.

...removed for production, starting with that interior.

Looks like a few cues were borrowed from Spyker; "interior concepts" tend to disappear from carryover than do exteriors, once the accountants get a hold of the intended sale price.

I can understand why some have said it looks French, if only for the orange roof reminding me of the DS3. But nothing more.

That said, I can see some Ford and VW influences looking at the front with American/Japanese styling at the back. One other thing I thought is that the basic front end shape reminds me of the Connaught Type-D, only far less dated in appearance.

I love the Spyker-esque interior styling though, especially the quilted leather seats which as McLaren said, will probably be scrapped if this goes into production.

Looks great but sadly if it ever makes the jump from concept to production it will probably end up looking terrible like so many other cars.

Kia doesn't seem to have settled on a brand 'look' yet, there's no identity from one generation to the next.
