No saucy 'We Dare' antics for Brits as game is pulled

If you watched the trailer for We Dare, no doubt you remember it. It was essentially the gaming equivalent of getting some friends together and putting you car keys in a bowl, if you know what we mean.

Well, all of you looking forward to a bit of flirty double-date Wii/PlayStation hijinks are going to be sorely disappointed: Ubisoft has pulled the game's UK release. The statement from Ubisoft states that the decision was made "following public reaction to the 12+ rating of We Dare".

"Flirty fun for all"

If you saw the trailer, you'd probably be concerned at the idea of 12 year olds getting their hands on it too, with lap-dancing, bum-spanking and stripping all included as standard.

Despite Ubisoft's decision to put a parental guidance sticker on the box following the release of the naughty trailer, it was game over for We Dare. Conservative North America won't be getting the spicy game either, but those liberal Europeans can enjoy all the spanking, kissing, gyrating and post-watershed whathaveyou that they like.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft has made the video trailer private on YouTube. Fortunately, IGN still has it – so sit back, relax and prepare for one-and-a-half truly uncomfortable minutes.

Looks like quite a hilarious game but should have been rated higher (+16), certainly some of the most innovative uses of the Wii-mote I've seen in a while! I wonder what the Playstation trophies would be?

After it was mentioned in the press I knew it was only a matter of time before it was banned. The 12+ rating was a nonsense.

puritans. Lol (joke if you didn't got it)

Surly the 12+ ratings didn't help, but i find it sad that the yellow press have so much power.

And how is teenage pregnancy in the UK??
Teenage binch drinking??

This game would have been so harmful.
Who knows maybe it is worse that Bulletstorm in leading people to commit rapes?

And what 12 year old would have been compelled to buy this ...

A joke.
reading forums on Eurogamer makes it even more funny. When it was canned in the US, the comments like puritans, "land of freedom" jokes were all around, now it hit them too.

Its not banned in America or the U.K. UbiSoft could still try to release it if they wanted to. They just don't want to, seemingly because of all of the negative publicity they think they will get.

Honestly, that commercial makes it seem so awkward to me.

I'm not going to call up my friends and be like, "Hey lets get together and nuzzle a Wii-mote."

I enjoy my gaming, alone in the dark corner of my home, like a normal person!

However, this isn't how normal people are. Normal people love social games of some sort, party games, etc. I could easily see something like this being successful in the college and young professional markets, just because we party hard and tend to give less of a damn.

Correct me if I'm wrong, being alone in the dark corner of your home is a hardcore "l33t" gamer at work.

If I had those two chicks over to my place they'd definitely be playing with my wii and I don't own a nintendo console.

I was kidding.
