Known Issue with GTPlanet's 1.6.0 iOS App

As some of you may have noticed, a new version of GTPlanet's iOS app is now available to be compatible with iOS 6 and the iPhone 5's larger screen.

However, the developers of the forum platform which powers the app, Forum Runner, did a poor job of testing the iPad version, and you may experience problems with 1.6.0 crashing or not loading correctly on your iPad.

If you have already updated, make sure to open the app in "portrait" (vertical) mode and not landscape.

The Forum Runner developers are already aware of the issue and are working to fix their platform for the iPad and will push out another update. As soon as that's available GTPlanet's app will also be revised again.
 
To save creating a new thread, just after this latest update, whenever I open the app, it won't lock to portrait. Any ideas?
 
On your iPad? I can't recreate that on my own iPad 3 running iOS 6.0; it won't change orientation if the portrait lock is on. Are you on iOS 6.0.1?
 
Hmm, I don't have access to a 4S at the moment, but it is working as expected on my iPhone 5.
 
Working fine on my iPhone 5, did come here how ere to start a thread about issues on my iPad, seen this thread tho and it's about the issues I'm having.

Seems to work ok in portrait mode however when using landscape about 2" of the screen is visible but does not work, can't scroll/go back etc and that's on the same side as the home button :/
 
I haven't heard anything from the platform developers regarding that iPad bug, unfortunately.
 
Hi guys it seems the gt planet app for the iPad has got a lot of problems, it loads ok but whenever I go to sign in it won't let me, but if I want to register as a new member I can access the login part from there. I do that then go to GT5 market place forum & select the post I wist to interact with but when I want to come out it won't let me. Seen the previous posts above & see there is a problem just letting you know it still not working correctly.
 
fix landscape mode ASAP please lol


I can't use any buttons on the right hand side in landscape. I can use in profile but I hate profile view.

Yes, I have removed the app from the App Store. It may become available to download once again in a few weeks, but will not be receiving any further updates.
 
No, but I'm working to make the site easier to use on all touch devices without the need for a native app across all platforms and devices. 👍 Stay tuned.
 
On my iPhone 3G S, this used to crash ALL THE TIME. Now I'm on an iPhone 4S (with an updated GTP app I'm assuming) and it hasn't crashed since I got my 4S on Saturday.
