Unfortunately, I live in Yankee Redneck central.
Blitz:it's not the actuall cars, it's the older generation's memories of non-luxury imports being better fishing bait than anything else. it may also have to do with the size. ask around the older driver-members in here about some of the duds that mainland europe used to import, here.
Prower:actually, from a BROWN collar POV (carharts). I'm from a real hickish area, and not what some of my aunts and uncles would call a "city boy". you'll have to take what I say with a backwoods grain of salt. it's not the "americans as a whole", it's the ones who make the little bit of money out here in cowpat country.
this is a Chevy-heavy area out here (in terms of dealerships), and, yet, is more ford country than anything else. even Japanese are sparse out here (Koreans seem to be an exception). I needed to see a real 1800 because I've never seen one physically, even at car shows.
