I still can't register this damn ID! Is it only me?

EDIT: Why on earth are Konami so stupid to come up with something like this anyway??? I mean if you want to play GT5P online you don't need to register a god damn Polyphony ID! This sucks...

Yeah, I agree. KONAMI really bit the wiener on this one.

You can only download it if you live in Europe. In the US, you have to preorder the game, and you get a special beta code.

Well, I live in the US but didn't preorder, just used a EU account,

I'll post the instructions here when I get on a computer.

Yep, and the fact you have to make a GAME ID as well beats me. 3 accounts with 3 different passwords is totally annoying.

COD4 is plug and play in comparison.

Follow the directions below:

1. First create a new user for your PS3.

2. Sign Up for the Playstation Network.

3. Select Europe as your Country/Region. (You can select ANY region as long as you can provide a real address.)

4. Make sure your language is set to English.

5. Select Master Account.

6. Create an e-mail account for your new PSN ID. If you have another e-mail address you can use just use it.. a friends, a parents, or a girlfriends etc. Otherwise visit any of the free e-mail websites below:

* Gmail - http://www.google.com/mail/help/promo1.html
* lycos - http://mail.lycos.com/lycos/Index.lycos
* mail.com - http://www.mail.com
* hotmail - http://www.hotmail.msn.com
* AOL - http://free.aol.com/thenewaol/email.adp

Once you've created an account simply use the e-mail address in your registration.

7. Create an online ID.

8. Enter a name, it's up to you how to play this one.

9. Next you'll need to provide a valid address for the region. Lets say you pick Hong Kong as my new homeland. Visit Frommers here ( http://www.frommers.com/destinations...78_inddin.html) and click on any of the restaurants names. Once you do this you'll have a valid address for your new account so enter it!

That's it, congratulations you've now successfully created a foreign region PSN account for your PS3! Enjoy the spoils!

From,
Chris.

From,
Chris.

This wont work for a free MGO beta game for those in the US, just so you know. Konami claims to check the emails origins. If it's from the US, you get banned from Konami ID.

Nevermind this post, I clicked on the wrong button, PM sent.

From,
Chris.

Just got it all done. I registered last night at 3am on the PS3 and have just confirmed that I accept the T+C's through the email they sent. Countless errors and time-outs along the way but it is possible. Will the servers be switched on at Midnight tonight or when will they be on?

**** Konami!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn I'm angry right now...

Still doesn't work for me! Must be some hardcore silly bastards who can even think of coming up with a stupid system like this! **** them!

After about 8,000,000 tries, I finally got to clicking the Register button....

Parameter Error.

To hell with MGO, I'll stay on GT5P.

Just wait until the servers are online (when it's hopefully fixed). There's no real use for the ID currently.

Each time I tried it earlier with my game ID and password it said cannot connect to server, that was OK because they hadnt switched the servers on yet. But now it says game ID or password incorrect cannot login to server. What does this mean my details are correct I'm almost 100% sure, dose this mean that they have switched on the servers but now are having even more problems???

Dont get all worried until they actually turn the servers on tomorrow. Then you can worry if it doesn't let you log in.

I didn't pre-order the game so I can't play the BETA tomorrow, but if I have a UK acount I can play it anyways, right?

I'm making a UK account, but I need an adress. Anyone willing to share? This is what I need:

Street Adress:

City:

Province:

Postal Code:

right i got my id and now it wont connect to the server. Why the hell have they done this if they arent prepaired for how many people might want to play it?
konami have really gone to crap if you ask me.

my arguement has been answered on the other thread about not being able to sign in.

@thefraggle

You have been asked before and I'm asking again (for the last time), do not double post. The edit button exists to make it quick and easy to add additional information if you are still the last poster in a thread.

I've merged these two together on this occasion, but please do not do this again.

Scaff

i was not aware i had double posted to be honest and i have to say i find it really hard on here sometimes with how many tmes i have been messaged by a mod for innocent mistakes.
what i did above was answering myself and i simply didnt think of the edit function. it is very hard to post on here at times as it can feel like the police are watching and rule it with an iron dictatorship. shouldnt this be a place of social meeting where people can relax and chat about GT and other games rather than like i do worry about if i am going to get told off for something that is ultimately very small.

Don't start down the "mods are dictators" road. It doesn't usually end well.

You agreed to follow the rules set up by GTP when you joined and now you're complaining that the rules are tough to follow. The Mods/Supers/Admins are just doing their jobs, not singling you out.

i didnt say they were. i did say that it seems to be ruled with an iron rod. For me it means i have to pretend to be better than i actually am and i dont really like it tbh. if i get banned form that then so be it. I think it will e a shame but seriously i dont say thigns on here to offend anybody and i dont break any laws. i am never anything other than social and have even happily given out my PSN id so people can add me. I have no issue with this but as i said feel like i cant be myself.

You can be yourself, the rules are simple and clear and are just there to keep everything clear and in general better. You could say the double posting rule is a bit harsh but the rules have to start somewhere and if it wasnt there someone would abuse it.
Now lets leave it at that before someone gives out to us for getting off the point of this thread!!:nervous:

Got my ID at last after trying a good hour+ yesterday and then an extra hour tonight ... damn pain in the ass to get it! but it's done now and looking forward to actually testing this baby out ;)

cya's in there guys and remember to die gracefully when old Metal P perforates ye with bullets :p

:cheers:
