Am I the only one who uses the L2/R2 buttons on the DFGT wheel for shifting? I assumed others would be doing this as well...

My DFP has a broken right paddle shift (tends to double/triple upshift, which is fatal in a close race).

My solution: I use the left paddle shifter to downshift, and the sequential shifter knob to upshift.

You think I'd just switch to the sequential knob entirely, but the above works for me.

All paddles for me - I really want to use the shifter knob but find driving so much easier with both hands on the wheel.

I had the exact same thing with my dfp...i fixed it 2 times by opening the box and cleaning the paddle solds...but after a while the left paddle AND the sequential knob began to do the same thing!!!and than my force feed back also dissapeared completaly!!(hoping not to scare you of here mate...)....so i threw it in the garbage and bought myself the new dfgt:):)

o.t.:as i drive paddle shifted cars in real life its natural for me to do the same in tha game...👍

fist off all why should you use the L2/L3 to shift if you got the paddles anyway.

my brake was broke of my dfp. it was braking abit by it self, tried everything disconnect all the cables and connect them again. that worked a few times. so bought the DFGT also. no regrads at all. it's a bit better wheel.

BTW
i heard that there will be a new G25 at the beginning of the new year. somebody of logitech told me that. i'm curious.

I tried the L2/L3 and they are in an uncomfortable place to shift quickly...I have a G25 wheel but hate 900 with F2007 so got a DFEX wheel and took it apart and moved the shifter switches up to where my thumbs are on the wheel works great .. and it shifts faster

I don't have a G25 but it looks like the L2/R2 buttons are on the front, and I agree that wouldn't be very comfortable.

The L2/R2 buttons on the DFGT are right where your thumbs rest normally.

Yes I've heard this also, I might hold off till the new one comes out...I'm really looking forward to using a new wheel, Honestly when trying to use a controller to pull a 1st rankings in a competition...such as Tarmac comp, its very hard to do well in some cars, as controller's have FAR inferior sensitivity alowance's if you know what I mean.;)

on dfgt i use paddles and if i have the wheel spun over and i can't reach the paddles, i use L2/R2 (on top of the middle bar)

That's why I started using L2/R2 but just found it easier to use them all the time.

I have the dfp and use the paddles. would like to use the shifter, but it's on the wrong side of the wheel lol. Has anyone tried cutting the shifter off the body and placing it on the left of the wheel?

Yes I use it as well. L2 and R2 used for downshifting. This is how the setup is in my BMW. So it feels more realistic for me.

Drove my brother-in-law's new vette this weekend. It was really hard for me to use the paddles because it was pull in to upshift, push out to downshift. I'm used to right upshift, left downshift.
