Damn. After 2 evenings of trying I finally got gold on the hot lap of Laguna Seca with the boat of a car that’s the Viper.

While it’s still fresh here are my tips for those who are struggling
  • getting gold on the sectors doesn’t mean much since if you add all gold times together it’s actually slower than the bronze on the full lap! This tripped me up for a while
  • use TRAIL BRAKING to turn the car
  • use the brakes to turn the car
  • do NOT accelerate before the apex
  • use full track limits
  • I used brake bias -2 but not sure if that actually helped in the end
  • YOU HAVE MORE GRIP THAN YOU THINK - be brave and give it the beans: especially at the corkscrew
  • coast and use slight brakes to turn the car (yes I am repeating myself)
  • TCS can be used to give you confidence to floor the sucker

You got this!

This is irrelevant imo. Iirc there are significant overlaps between the individual sectors and the overall distance you cover running them is a good bit more than one single lap.
